What is our primary use case?
It's for file systems. It's a NAS solution, and it has flexibility. There shouldn't be any outages because if one node goes down, the other nodes take over and take care of everything.
It has a feature called Fusion that makes it more secure and productive than Panzura.
What is most valuable?
Fusion is the only best feature, but it's a very good feature.
Nexenta is a very old product. Nexenta is a well-established product used in the UK, US, India, Dubai, Qatar, and other countries. It is very good. The interface is up to date. Everything is up to date. The OS version was recently upgraded to 5.5 FP3.
AI features:
DataDirect Networks owns Nexenta and has won awards for AI. They continuously work on AI features. DDN also has a product called Tintri Infinia with AI features. And NVIDIA product also has AI features. I look forward to working on those products.
What needs improvement?
There were some SMB issues, but they were resolved in the latest version. Four to five customers faced intermittent issues with the SMBs. So, it got resolved in version 5.5 FP3.
In future releases, I look forward to more AI integrations.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for more than two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability is good. It's flexible or scalable. It is very good compared to Panzura. So even better than Panzura in terms of scalability.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service and support are better than Panzura.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In terms of support. Panzura is a good product, but I would choose Nexenta.
It's not that one is better than the other. Each product has its features and stability. I have worked on both, and I like Nexenta.
Even Panzura has better features than Nexenta. For example, the snapshot feature is better in Panzura for recovering data.
How was the initial setup?
It's easy to deploy. It's the same as Panzura in terms of deployment.
Maintenance will be required. Only updates, upgrades, firmware upgrades, drive upgrades, things like that. There were some SMB issues, but they were resolved in the latest version.
What about the implementation team?
One person is enough for the deployment.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten.
I would recommend using it.
