What is our primary use case?
My main use case for QNAP NAS Storage is that we are a distributor company, providing QNAP NAS Storage for customers according to their requirements. Partners bring us their deals for NAS storages, and we provide them QNAP NAS Storage from our company.
We offer customers shared folder access for a desktop NAS. Recently, we delivered dual controller NAS for enterprises and government offices, including 24-bay and 12-bay NAS for 400 TB, 200 TB, and similar storage capacities. We also provide portable NAS for photographers.
How has it helped my organization?
QNAP NAS Storage has positively impacted our organization, as we generate most of our income from it. I have been dealing with QNAP in recent months and receive many incentives because most customers are very impressed with QNAP NAS Storage's globally leading storage solution, which significantly impacts our organization's income.
When customers use QNAP NAS Storage, they often use it again, especially for storage expansion, and they recommend QNAP NAS Storage to others. We notice that sales numbers increase day by day, with many government sectors, such as the health sector for hospitals, government offices, and the finance ministry, taking QNAP NAS Storage from us, including most Sri Lankan government offices, although I cannot share more detailed sales information about this.
What is most valuable?
In my experience, the best features QNAP NAS Storage offers are its focus on network-attached storage and its full ecosystem with applications. We can use it as an NVR without needing another NVR for a company. We can use the storage device as an NVR in QNAP NAS Storage. QNAP NAS Storage provides universal drivers, so not only QNAP's hard disks and SSDs can be used, but also universal brand hard disks and SSDs. QNAP NAS Storage also has myQNAPcloud storage for backup, hybrid backup solution, and Boxafe application, offering several applications to create a full solution ecosystem according to organizational requirements.
The feature that stands out as most valuable to my customers is Boxafe because most organizations use Google and Microsoft, so they need to back up their Google and Microsoft data. We provide them Boxafe as a solution with QNAP NAS Storage, along with hybrid backup.
I want to emphasize that we can use QNAP NAS Storage for every kind of industry, such as video editing, video creation, photography, healthcare, industrial, and enterprise IT. It provides backup and data protection, centralized management, and centralized access. It is very useful for every industry, so we give solutions according to their requirements, gathering different kinds of requirements from customers to provide suitable network-attached storage based on performance, hard disk capacity, and storage capacity. Often, customers request expansion units when storage capacity exceeds requirements, network expansion cards for network expansion, and parts from QNAP NAS Storage's brand.
What needs improvement?
I think QNAP NAS Storage can improve by focusing more on their hard disks, as hard disk prices have increased in the industry. In Sri Lanka, we face a challenging situation finding hard disks at the prices we offer to customers. It would help greatly if QNAP NAS Storage offered hard disks or SSDs, as providing pricing for customers becomes difficult when hard disk prices increase before the deal closes. Additionally, we cannot keep hard disk stock because different requirements need different sizes, and some products are out of stock and end of sale, along with missing compatibility devices.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using QNAP NAS Storage for more than eight months, but our company has worked with it for more than five years.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate QNAP NAS Storage a nine out of ten.
I choose nine out of ten for QNAP NAS Storage because, while we work with some other network-attached storages, most of the time, according to customer requirements, we can go with QNAP NAS Storage. QNAP NAS Storage's AI governance and security capabilities are good. I find QNAP NAS Storage's AI capability in terms of accuracy and reliability of output to be very reliable and accurate.
My advice for those looking into using QNAP NAS Storage is that it is a good product. First, they should focus on their performance needs, how much capacity they require, and what kind of network connectivity they need, and then visit the QNAP website to find the exact storage according to their requirements.
