We are using Stripe Payments as a customer for simple donation and subscription, and we are building a crowdfunding platform where a user can donate money.
We are using Stripe Payments in test mode, and we can find some platforms that provide lower fees, but in general, its pricing is not too high, and it's fair enough.
Currently, only our developer team and our families are using Stripe Payments, which amounts to around 20 people.

We allow our users to make payments with Stripe Payments, whether it's a simple donation or a recurring subscription, and after that, we use webhooks on the Stripe site to track events. For example, if a payment is successful, we can use this data to notify our users about this payment and provide them with information regarding that, and also track all this information to create a progress bar.
There is a lot of data that we can use for analytics and reports with Stripe Payments. I'm still discovering this topic, but my thought is that Stripe Payments made good efforts and provides all necessary tools and features to analyze payments or events that happened on this platform and track all of this.
Regarding the developer-friendly API integration, for new users, it could be a little bit complicated. It could be better if there were two options for progressive developers and strong developers, and for juniors. But in general, I can give good feedback about using Stripe Payments platform. It was not very complicated to figure out how to use this platform, how to make webhooks, trigger events, and it offers many options that you can implement.
I cannot comment on fraud features because I don't have much experience using this feature of Stripe Payments. Perhaps after a few months of additional experience, I will have more insights to share.
There are still many things that I haven't discovered, and it's difficult to say what could be improved. Everything is fine at this point.

I mainly use Stripe Payments for my clients as a way to get payments for their online goods and services. This can be physical products or digital products, depending on the client's need.
One of my initial projects was an e-commerce website using Stripe Payments. The clients wanted to sell digital goods such as hoover, mouse, keyboard, so I integrated Stripe Payments for that. That was a WordPress website. I also integrated it in Next.js recently for one of my clients who is selling jewelry products.
I am using Stripe Payments because it is really simple to use and it has a very user-friendly dashboard that my clients can access. It has a mobile application, which is very convenient for them. They can see payments coming in and going out. Stripe Payments helps with disputes and similar matters, making it very useful in that sense.
As a developer, Stripe Payments really helps in terms of being simple to integrate, easy to use, user-friendly, and having very detailed guidelines. There is very little to go wrong when integrating Stripe Payments. From a user's perspective, Stripe Payments is very clear. It tells you how much they will be charging for their fees. It is smooth, simple to use, and very secure. It offers lots of different functionality as a developer as for users. It is very popular, which makes it a very good choice.
The refund system in Stripe Payments is simple and straightforward, allowing my clients to easily process refunds through that system. There is no inconvenience. Stripe Payments makes it overall simple to use and integrate on the system. The API is excellent as Stripe Payments has many different APIs you can integrate, and they are very simple with lots of guides available.
I have used Stripe Payments since the beginning, so I cannot compare previous benefits. However, by using Stripe Payments, my customers have achieved worldwide sales across the UK and globally, which is obviously a positive outcome.
Stripe Payments is already doing very well. If Stripe Payments wanted to improve based on user feedback, I would suggest creating more guides and making it simpler to use, especially for non-technical people. Some of my clients struggle with the dashboard, interface, APIs, and technical aspects. Making a simpler dashboard, perhaps having one dashboard for developers and another for clients only, would make it much easier for them.
Reducing their fee would be beneficial as it would help businesses make more sales and revenue.

Stripe Payments is very stable and very well-known, so there was no real need to explore different alternatives. I am familiar with Stripe Payments, and even though technically I've been using it for the last year, I had previously used it with other clients years ago. Therefore, it was a straightforward decision.
Stripe Payments is definitely able to handle growth easily. With big numbers, Stripe Payments handles everything efficiently. There have been no crashes or issues. I have never needed to contact customer support because everything was simple and straightforward. There have been no disputes or issues whatsoever.
I started with Stripe Payments and have not used other solutions.
Fewer employees were needed with Stripe Payments. Money was saved compared to other solutions.
One of my clients has seen about 40% increase within the first month of building the e-commerce website using Stripe Payments. This is a significant positive number for their e-commerce jewelry business. Another client has seen a significant number of sales after integrating Stripe Payments. Since users are familiar with the payment portal, they feel comfortable with it, making it much easier to guide users through the process.

There is no situation where you would get stuck because everything works smoothly without any issues. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Stripe Payments a 7.
Stripe Payments is primarily used as an online payment processing platform that enables us to accept and manage payments over the internet.
We've had issues with the platform, including:
1) Stripe cut our account overnight, without pre-warning
2) They never explained it properly, we only received template responses
3) They refuse to transfer our payment profiles to another payment processor. With that, they go against what they state on their website, and according to our understanding also against the law (e.g., GDPR), counting on you not suing them.
Here's the full story:
Stripe cut access to our account suddenly, without any pre-warning. Therefore, we weren’t able to process our clients' payments anymore, causing us a loss of significant revenue, and upset clients. We never found out why they did that. They only sent templates stating that we’re “too risky” for them. We asked them why – we never got any more detailed information.
When telling others about this case, we learned that this isn’t unusual at all. Stripe seems to accept clients very quickly, and down the road, when you’re invested in them, they cut your access and don’t care about the losses you have.
As unfair as that is, according to their terms of use, they can do that. However, what they cannot do, is hold your client payment profiles hostage, refusing to transfer them to another payment processor (this is important so that existing clients can be charged automatically again in case of subscriptions). On their website, they state the opposite. For example, they state:
"We believe that our customers should own the sensitive data they entrust to Stripe, and we work hard to ensure your access to this data—even if you’re moving elsewhere. If you decide to leave Stripe for another payment processor, we’ll work with your new processor’s team to securely transfer your credit card data."
But they don’t do that, they refuse any transfer of data. We're not sure why. We only got the response that it’s “too risky” for them. Maybe processing of those payments is risky, yet why should it be risky to transfer them to another provider? We asked, and got no response.
Cutting our account is one thing. Not allowing us to transfer the client payment profiles is a different level. It goes against what they state on their website, and according to our understanding, is also against the law (including GDPR). It seems they count on you not suing them.
What’s especially frustrating is that they give you the feeling that they never want to sort it out. Maybe there were real issues with our account, who knows? However, in the manner they deal with it, they unequivocally make clear: you’re unimportant, we don’t need to spend time on your case and explain properly what’s going on. It’s utterly disrespectful.
The solution's most valuable aspect is its global reach. Stripe Payments allows businesses to accept payments from customers worldwide, supporting multiple currencies and international card payments. This global reach is particularly valuable for our businesses with an international customer base.
The product could improve customer support.
