| IT Consultant at a real estate/law firm with 51-200 employees | 4.5 | I use Symantec Client Management Suite for Windows patches and inventory management, appreciating its client management ease and agent installation. Improvements could include more network devices and patch reversion. Compared to alternatives, it offers superior ROI with fewer support delays. |
| Project Manager at a financial services firm with 1,001-5,000 employees | 4.5 | I have used this very easy-to-use and stable client management solution for nine years across 5,000 machines. While I recommend it highly, the technical support, especially post-Broadcom acquisition, significantly needs improvement. |
| IT Operations and Infrastructure Manager with 1-10 employees | 3.0 | I found this product good for tracking incidents and assets, but its workflow is problematic. Hotfixes often break it, it's unstable, and support is painful. I rate it 6/10 due to inconsistency and the need for a cloud-based solution. |

Yes it helped to update systems remotely
The most valuable feature of Symantec Client Management Suite is the ease of client management and agent installation.
Symantec Client Management Suite can improve by adding more network devices.
In a future release, they should add the ability to revert back the patches or updates.
I have been using Symantec Client Management Suite for approximately four years.
Symantec Client Management Suite is a highly stable solution.
The scalability of Symantec Client Management Suite is good, it can support many huge number of clients clients.
This solution is used on a daily basis.
The support from Symantec Client Management Suite has been responsive and knowledgeable.

Positive
I have used many other solutions.
The initial setup of Symantec Client Management Suite is simple.
I rate the support from Symantec Client Management Suite a five out of five.
I myself implemented..
Best compared to competation
The price of the solution is competitive.
I rate the price of Symantec Client Management Suite a four out of five.
Symantec Client Management Suite is a better solution than competitors and the support has fewer delays.
ManageEngine Desktop Central and BMC Remedy are two of the solutions evaluated and BMC Remedy's price is on the higher side because they're one of the best solutions. Altiris is a good solution ranked close to BMC Remedy.
Most of the solutions in this category have similar features.
BMC Remedy and Symantec Client Management Suite have a similar agent and it is a bit heavy, it is very large. It might use up the system resource. However, in Altiris, the agent is very lightweight and it will not cause any resource problems to the system performance.
Those who use Altiris should have a good network connection between the server and the client.
Symantec Client Management Suite has a very good marketing team.
I rate Symantec Client Management Suite a nine out of ten.
We are using this product for managing desktops, laptops, and some tablets. For our server, we do not have a solution at this time.
This is a very strong solution.
The most important thing for us is that it is very easy to use, as well as the availability of it in our support centers.
The technical support is in need of improvement.
We have been using the Symantec Client Management Suite for about nine years, since 2011. We continue to use it on a regular basis.
The stability is very good. We don't have any trouble with this solution.
This solution is very concrete and very specific. About 40% of the people in our organization use it, and we are managing 5,000 machines or more.
The technical support has been troubling for me. I would rate them a six out of ten. The support was better when Symantec was the owner, before it was acquired by Broadcom. In my country, it is difficult to communicate with support because there are no people here from Broadcom.
We started working with this solution several years ago and it is now time to upgrade it, although it's pretty easy to do.
The deployment, in general, is not difficult. When we deployed it, we did it in record time. For the initial configuration, it took us 10 months or perhaps less, for 5,000 machines.
Three or four engineers are required for support and maintenance.
This is a very good product and I recommend it to other companies.
That said, it is very important that Broadcom improves support.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
We can track the incidents, we can track the changes, we can track the assets from cradle to grave and give some kind of accounting as they get older.
Those are some of the important components.
Some parts are working okay, some of the other components aren't. Workflow isn't working properly. Different people accepting changes and being able to close it has some issues. Putting in hot fixes and installing it usually breaks the system. Those are some of the problems. Just maintaining it.
In a future release I'd like to see a cloud-based solution, something we don't have to upgrade, where upgrades happen automatically.
It's not that stable.
We haven't tried to scale it too much.
Tech support is a painful process. It takes a long time to get through and get issues resolved.
The most important criteria when selecting a vendor are reputation and quality of the product.
I would rate this product at around six out of 10, because some things work and some things don't work properly. It needs better consistency and quality, and the ability to make changes easily, would also help. Also, easier support.
Regarding advice to a colleague who is looking at this or a similar solution, make sure you have the requirements defined, and be critical when you select a vendor.
