What is our primary use case?
I have Celonis Process Mining and UiPath Automation Ops understanding. I worked on UiPath automation implementation, doing process due diligence, identifying automation areas, and managing the technical development of the process automation.
For UiPath Automation Ops, we focus on Robotic Process Automation. I am part of the end-to-end lifecycle. For example, with invoice processing automation, we conduct process studies, standardize procedures, collaborate with development teams, provide inputs, manage automation, and create test cases.
The automations I have implemented span finance and accounts processes, content management processes, and banking processes. These include invoice processing, purchase order creation, payment processing, loan origination, underwriting, loan servicing, and copyrights processing.
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath Automation Ops has improved organizations by implementing automation solutions. When we identify 20 use cases, customers may see benefits in four or five cases, plus compliance-driven cases. They retain the valuable use cases and eliminate those without clear benefits before bot development begins.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features include process task mining where UiPath Automation Ops records tasks performed on the computer and generates output in the form of a process map and procedural document. It captures all clicks made, making documentation easier.
Additional features include image processing, PDF file processing, Excel file input processing, data calculations, and cross-application data movement. Automation Cloud is a comprehensive solution, while UiPath Automation Ops handles governance, coding standards, and user access management. Automation Ops is primarily used by developers and support teams, whereas Automation Cloud is used for implementation and development.
What needs improvement?
There are certain controls that developers must manage based on input from business analysts. Compliance-related aspects do not happen automatically and must be explicitly mentioned. Bot task loading needs improvement, though I cannot provide detailed information about this aspect.
For how long have I used the solution?
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
UiPath Automation Ops maintains strong stability as one of the top three automation products in the market. Without stability, it would not maintain its market position among several automation products.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability functions effectively. When process changes occur or bot integration with other components is needed, modifications can be implemented. API integration is also possible through bot modifications.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. Creating a developer environment takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes, involving installation on the developer laptop and environment setup. For proof of concept, UiPath Automation Ops offers a free license active for 30 days, allowing development and customer demonstrations without purchasing a development license.
What was our ROI?
Return on investment is identified through productivity gains and other benefits, measured both after business analysis and post-implementation during hypercare. The potential ROI determined during business analysis typically aligns closely with the actual ROI after bot execution. Customers gain visibility into the software's benefits, and they invest based on clear ROI projections.
Customers evaluate use cases based on ROI benefits and compliance requirements. They proceed with cases showing clear returns while eliminating those without demonstrable value, making these decisions before bot development begins.
What other advice do I have?
UiPath Automation Ops requires proper access control management. Business analysts or leads must specify access levels for developers and hypercare teams. Different access types include execution rights, viewing permissions, and licensing management capabilities.
The solution offers benefits including defect reduction, improved lead time, reduced turnaround time, decreased average handle time, increased productivity, full-time employee releases, bottom-line cost savings, and enhanced customer experience.
As gold or diamond vendors, we provide significant customer benefits through UiPath Automation Ops implementation, both in pricing and process improvements.
I rate UiPath Automation Ops a 9 out of 10.
