What is most valuable?
The great feature of the solution is its functionalities as a DLO, which saves us space. The solution provides an easy GUI allowing you to use it as a backup and restore your computer whenever you want, following administrator rules. DLO is very good at what it does.
What needs improvement?
Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option's server and GUI are of an old style that could be improved. In the solution, the number of errors we have are not so intuitive to fix, because of which an older person like me needs to be here, making it the last and worst thing of the solution.
The support team of the product lacks skills and needs improvement.
I would have mentioned that Veritas needs to make their solution available in the cloud, but I am sure they already have it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option since 2021. My company is a customer of Veritas.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Though there are minor stability issues, it's still good enough. I am currently working on the product's stability. Some errors could be improved for better stability. There are some errors that need to be fixed in the product. It is not an intuitive product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The need to scale Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option would depend on its users because there is no limitation as far as I know.
There are around 1,000 end users of the solution in my company.
How are customer service and support?
The support for Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option has not been so good because of the engineers, obviously. Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option is not a widely used product, so the support just neglects it. I was never very happy with the support, so if I face a problem with the tool, I need to dig a lot to get a good engineer to navigate through the issue.

How was the initial setup?
The installation of Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option is easy.
The installation process is very fast since there is not much preparation required. It takes minutes to install the solution.
The deployment process of the solution is fast. I don't know how fast it is compared to the implementation part, but it's almost the same, so it is ultra-quick and takes the same time as required for installation. If you follow the steps, the deployment can be done quickly.
One engineer is enough to install it.
The solution is deployed on-premises.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have worked with other products but not at the level, I am currently working with Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option. I cannot compare Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option with other products since it is the most professional tool I found. Apart from the support, it is an overall good solution. Overall, it's a very good solution because it serves its users' main needs.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is easy to maintain, especially when the tool works well. One person is enough to maintain the solution.
Veritas Desktop and Laptop Option is a reliable tool and a good enterprise solution if you need to protect the computer of your users.
Considering the shortcomings of the support and the errors in the solution, I rate the product a five out of ten.
