The tool allowed me to level up my PowerPoint slides and the background content for videos. It makes the design pop. The rest of the team uses Adobe or PowerPoint to design. Affinity Designer gives an edge to my work.
What is most valuable?
Designers like to use it. It’s a very big product. We can do a lot of different design work using the tool. I love the product and the results it produces. I get a lot of satisfaction from using it.
What needs improvement?
It’s all static. We cannot make GIFs using the tool. The product must provide features that are available in Adobe Premiere. It should also provide more 3D effects.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have had no trouble, glitches, freezing, or loss of work. I face such problems when I use Adobe. Adobe freezes because it's more heavy on the hardware.
How are customer service and support?
There is a page we can go to if we have any questions. Many Facebook pages have been created for it where people give a lot of good advice and share their ideas. It's a community of users who are very passionate about it.
How was the initial setup?
I use the cloud version. The initial setup was pretty simple and straightforward. We get a key. We download it on our computer and get the service. The add-ons are a little bit more complex. It is the most difficult part. I watched videos to understand how to download the product. We get the latest version automatically. It is a low-maintenance tool.
What was our ROI?
I have seen massive value for money. It has given me an edge. My designs look a lot better because of the tool.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is cheaper than Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
What other advice do I have?
I use it in a business setting. I use the solution to create designs and send them to our team. I tried to get our design team to start using it. We get a lifelong membership for less cost. I haven't had the opportunity to scale the product. People who would start working with the solution must watch the videos on how to use it. It has a lot of functions. We need to spend a little bit of time watching some videos to learn the basics. Once we've done that, it opens up many avenues for us to explore and be creative. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.
