Integrated cybersecurity and backup have improved ransomware resilience and simplified recovery
In my opinion, it would be better if Acronis expanded their integration with multiple products. Right now, backup and mail backup are only limited to M365 and Google. Most of the customers in my country use hosted servers or cPanel, IceWarp, and other small office and home office email solutions. If they can expand that integration, it would be helpful. Making it even better would be if they have an industrial-level backup solution with multiple integrations and multiple backup capabilities that their competitor has. This would allow us to focus on one singular license for backup and confidently position it to an enterprise-level environment, such as a data center-level environment.

Virtual environment achieves seamless management and reduces downtime through improved fault tolerance
With regards to storage area networks versus virtual SAN, vSAN is better off. It is much faster because the disk is within, utilizing NVMe type disks running SSD for the OS and capacity, making it easier to expand storage. It is stable, and similar to any issues on a standalone machine, there's resilience; if we lose one host, data will not be lost because of the technology on vSAN that allows us to free up that host into maintenance mode without issues. The benefit of using vSAN is that it's easy to manage on vCenter. You can see if there are issues, get recommendations, and overall, it's highly fault-free which is beneficial because we want to minimize downtime. Operationally, we perform well enough during the week; the only time we are highly operational on vSAN is when we do switch upgrades on the MX7000 switches and firmware, which we schedule outside of business hours.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best feature of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is how it backs up files in a user-friendly manner."
"Because they have multiple solutions integrated into one license, we can justify the cost."
"The reporting and auditing features of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure are the most effective for data protection; it has a single console management system, and all products are integrated into one console, which makes it very efficient."
"The most valuable feature of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is the multi-tenancy model, we can create customers and services for them."
"The technical support provided by Acronis is great."
"The most valuable feature is the backup capability."
"The most valuable features are the full image backup, and the file or document sharing, allowing documents to be easily accessed from anywhere."
"We find the initial implementation process simple and straightforward."
"It is easy to install."
"I rate vSAN ReadyNodes as a nine out of ten."
"This is a product I recommend."
"If I consider the overall product, I would say that it is an excellent solution that offers very good performance and stability."
"I have found the most important features of Dell EMC vSAN Ready Nodes are the capacity to manage the storage because the storage is built in the servers. The type of profiles you can attribute to the storage is a benefit. You can manage the storage by profiles. Overall the solution is a good speed and performance."
"vSAN ReadyNodes offer easy scalability, which has proven beneficial for storage needs."
"We previously used the old traditional type of file storage and we switched because there was almost no difference in cost but we got a product with much better features."

Cons

"The support for this solution is a major thing that they need to focus on and improve."
"Acronis Cyber Infrastructure is too populated. They have many features, but some features are still missing, it is not complete. They need to improve many features, such as email security and disaster recovery."
"If they could make improvements with the virtual environment then it would be better."
"Backing up Azure resources is an area where there's room for improvement, as they are not fully covered yet."
"The only downside is when comparing backup scenarios. Veeam has much more backup capabilities for data center and enterprise environments, but Acronis only focuses on SMBs and mid-level markets."
"I would like to see real-time backup supported in the next release of this solution."
"Dell vSAN Ready Nodes must be flexible since it is complex in designing concepts. It needs to improve stability. The product should integrate with the public cloud."
"Dell EMC vSAN Ready Nodes is a great hyper-converged system that is a perfect platform for supporting any kind of workload. The only workload that it's not designed to support is big data."
"Dell vSAN Ready Nodes' deployment is complex."
"We have experienced some issues with performance."
"The Dell VxRail solution is based on vSAN Ready Nodes, but the Dell VxRail is fully automated. It would be helpful if this automation feature could be added to the Dell vSAN Ready Nodes. For example, we need to install VMware ESXi, and manually expand the cluster."
"When customers want to expand capacity but all the drive slots are full, they are forced to buy new servers or nodes which adds more costs with licenses and hardware, rendering it less scalable than other storage setups."
"When comparing Dell VxRail and Dell EMC vSAN Ready Nodes, I have found that when managing and expanding Dell VxRail is much better."
"There is room for improvement in the maintenance pricing. Maintenance isn't difficult, but the prices are high and ridiculous. Some customers feel it is better to go with a new solution rather than renew this one."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay monthly for the use of Acronis Cyber Infrastructure. There are additional features that we use that have an extra fee."
"The pricing is on the high side and the subscription is renewed every year."
"The tool's pricing is competitive compared to others. The tool's licensing is based on annual subscriptions."
"We have a four-year contract to use Dell EMC vSAN Ready Nodes."
"The solution is more expensive than a traditional array. The prices are skyrocketing."
"The price of the solution was reasonable."
"Comparing the price of Dell vSAN Ready Nodes to other solutions it is not expensive."
"My company makes yearly payments towards the licensing charges attached to the solution. The solution is expensive."
"There is a problem, which is the lack of an integrated price structure."
