Transformed document processing has become foolproof with seamless data extraction
The primary use case of Altair Monarch was data extraction. I used it to process a lot of documents and data from Notepad and PDFs, converting those into structured data for basic analysis and reporting. It facilitated data preparation and data extraction effectively Altair Monarch is valuable…

Automated complex ETL workflows have reduced coding effort and improved data integration
One area for improvement is in integrating mostly the data which comes from telemetry, where I can see some sort of improvisations can be made. It is a massive amount of unstructured data, and I believe Alteryx is able to handle it, but there can be some improvements. Suggestions for improvements in Alteryx include areas for increasing efficiency, particularly in processing telemetry data, which involves dealing with large volumes of unstructured data. Additionally, I believe when we use filter tools immediately after the input source, there can be slowdowns when handling massive data. The user experience of Alteryx is generally good, but there are areas for improvement from a user's perspective, particularly regarding user interface enhancements. I think there's always room for improvement, but otherwise, Alteryx has been a great tool for me. We haven't experienced significant disruptions while increasing data volumes, though I sense there could be performance issues as data grows exponentially. This is an area that could use improvement in Alteryx.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Monarch lets you quickly extract in your preferred format."
"Altair Monarch is valuable because it allows a one-time setup for data extraction, making the process extremely easy with just a few clicks to get the output."
"Overall, the solution as a whole is extremely useful."
"Although Alteryx is a paid software, it is equally able to provide better performance without writing a single line of code."
"The most valuable feature of Alteryx is its performance. It is a powerful solution."
"The main benefits that Alteryx provides for me are that it is easier to use, I do not have to code anything, so it is a non-coding tool, and it saves my time in that aspect."
"When you open a raw Excel file, it can be hard to look at everything in detail. Alteryx makes it much easier to go through the data, summarize it, and use different tools for analysis."
"Alteryx Designer has so many functionalities packed into one package that you get a lot of things that you wouldn't have expected."
"It allows for manipulation and automation, which has greatly reduced the amount of time required per project."
"Previously I have used consultants for the implementation but I can now do it myself."

Cons

"I rate Altair Monarch seven out of 10 for affordability. Recently, the pricing model changed from end-user licensing to a concurrent licensing model."
"The conditional join feature should be improved."
"There are no ready models to use in analytics."
"The pricing seems high for my current needs. However, considering the benefits, it is easier to justify to management for broader company usage."
"It is too expensive for our country, and because of its high price, we can't sell Alteryx Designer in this region."
"Alteryx needs to focus on the supply chain aspect since detecting financial figures and data anomalies is currently insufficient."
"The scalability worries me a lot at the moment because the cost of the solution is high and it is not growing considerably. Unfortunately, we started during early COVID times and because of the economic downturn, all the cost cuttings, and everything, it is not growing as expected."
"They should make the solution user-friendly for nontechnical people by giving specific names to the options."
"The formula we currently use in Alteryx can be automated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"My organization pays for it, and I do not look into the financial aspect of the licensing, but I know it is pretty expensive."
"It is $4,000 a year, so it is cheap versus other solutions. It also accomplishes three times the volume on the job in the same time (as the other solutions)."
"The license is really expensive, we cannot afford to have two or three. It takes away all the budget of my area."
"The seat is too expensive."
"Very transparent."
"The pricing is $5000 per year per production license."
"We use the free version of the solution. There are enterprise licenses available. It cost approximately $5,000 annually. It is an expensive solution and there are additional features that cost more money."
"The price could be better."
