Automated complex ETL workflows have reduced coding effort and improved data integration
One area for improvement is in integrating mostly the data which comes from telemetry, where I can see some sort of improvisations can be made. It is a massive amount of unstructured data, and I believe Alteryx is able to handle it, but there can be some improvements. Suggestions for improvements in Alteryx include areas for increasing efficiency, particularly in processing telemetry data, which involves dealing with large volumes of unstructured data. Additionally, I believe when we use filter tools immediately after the input source, there can be slowdowns when handling massive data. The user experience of Alteryx is generally good, but there are areas for improvement from a user's perspective, particularly regarding user interface enhancements. I think there's always room for improvement, but otherwise, Alteryx has been a great tool for me. We haven't experienced significant disruptions while increasing data volumes, though I sense there could be performance issues as data grows exponentially. This is an area that could use improvement in Alteryx.

Robust, great for financial decision making, and very scalable
This product really needs to improve its ease of use. The solution needs to do a better job of promoting and marketing itself. Alteryx is much better at this and as a consequence is more recognizable. Trifacta needs to showcase its technology better. It truly should encompass the A to Z execution of how you execute business process modeling in an intelligent automation form. A future release needs to be something that's easier to handle. I wouldn't say a layman should be able to use the solution as data wrangling is something that somebody has got to really be certified in. I have a friend who's worked at IBM for 30 years, and now he's just getting certified as a data scientist. However, if the solution was designed as something that really could assist a new data scientist or kids coming out of college, something that's easier for them to wrap their heads around, that would be helpful. The interface on Trifacta is way too busy. I used to do UX and it's just awful. It looks a little bit like Excel. I can't stand it. The UI of Alteryx is much, much better.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Alteryx is very good; you can do literally anything on Alteryx, it is so advanced, and it's just drag and drop, so you don't need to know any coding or other technical stuff to use it."
"It offered quick development, with the ability to process large datasets."
"Alteryx has cut down on time spent cleaning and transforming the data, improved productivity, and transitioning from PoC to other users was seamless because the users upskilled quickly and could take ownership without a steep learning curve."
"I think the most valuable feature for Alteryx in a health facility is that it permits cleaning, organizing, and merging of databases such as Excel and Access."
"The data transformation feature is the most valuable. The ability to ingest data, visualize data, and transform that data is useful."
"Alteryx significantly reduces the time spent searching for specific information."
"The solution has excellent drag and drop functionality. There's no need for coding."
"Any company considering a data processing platform which is light, offers good flexibility, and deals with moderate or low sized data, will find this is a really good spend."
"The solution is extremely robust, works well for data scientists, and can really help them drill down on the information in order to give management tangible data points for larger business decisions."

Cons

"The desktop license is expensive."
"It's a technical product and those that don't have proper training will have to deal with a steep learning curve."
"Although I use this product regularly, I used to code for many years and I am not a big fan of tools like Alteryx. I don't think that it's a good product, and the reason is that when the use cases get more complex, the models get exponentially larger and more complex to put together."
"From a commercial standpoint, more options should be available for pricing. The licensing model needs to be specific."
"They should make the solution user-friendly for nontechnical people by giving specific names to the options."
"Configuration is very low and is not good for the customer end."
"The license is really expensive, we cannot afford to have two or three."
"Visualization: There is room to improve here."
"This product really needs to improve its ease of use."
