A stable and scalable product that offers ease of coding and designing to build applications
There isn't a need for any improvement in Android SDK since they provide users with two or three updates in a year, making it quite stable. The security part in Android SDK depends on how you build an application using the tool so you can apply some security to your application. The reason why Temenos Quantum is the best security tool is because it uses a middleware named Fabric, so the APIs are connected from Fabric to Temenos Quantum. The middleware offered by Temenos is really strong. If I compare the security offered by Android to that of Temenos Quantum, Android will lose in terms of security. You can create a secure application with Android SDK. The amount of security offered by Android SDK is less when compared to Temenos, making it an area of concern where improvement can be made. I don't think Android SDK needs to add any features because they give updates frequently.

Oracle Autonomous Mobile Cloud Enterprise: Deliver Mobile Apps faster using inbuilt features
Valuable features include: * Built-in platform APIs for configuring push notifications. * APIs to generate custom analytics events. * Connectors that can be used to connect to various enterprise backends and third-party systems. Now they have rolled out Oracle Autonomous Mobile Cloud Enterprise which also helps us to develop chatbots. We have implemented Facebook Channel enabled Chatbots using AMCe that allows to interact with Oracle EBS modules like HRMS. Here user can interact with chatbots to get the details about approved leaves, available leaves & also have the provision to apply leave. For one of our major clients, we wrote custom APIs in Oracle Autonomous Mobile Cloud to convert SOAP APIs to REST APIs. We were also able to integrate SSO functionality in their mobile application using Virtual Zero Footprint SSO. Oracle Autonomous Mobile Cloud has a built in token exchange endpoint that allows to generate SSO tokens using third party JWT or SAML tokens. We have also implemented Browser Based SSO in some of our client mobile applications.

Pros

"The best thing about Android SDK is its extensive graphics compared to iOS."
"The IDE is easy to use and has a ton of APIs that allow you to tie into Google's large base of services offered."
"The best thing about Android SDK is that it supports a lot of devices."
"Android SDK's best feature is its ease of use."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is a stable product."
"Applications built with Android SDK can run on a large number of devices from various vendors and are not restricted to a particular vendor"
"No doubt about the customer service its always great."
"Wide range of resources available (code, snippets, examples, samples, blogs...etc)."
"The hybrid framework and drag/drop features are the most valuable."
"Our Java developers can now build mobile apps for all platforms at once."
"There exists different hybrid solutions in the market with open source products, but if you want to have support and a real business solution, then there is no better solution that I've seen."
"I would highly recommend Oracle MAF as it is: Single Platform – It handles end-to-end life cycle for enterprise mobility solutions."
"Oracle MAF allows deployment of a mobile app to both Android and iOS, with one code base and one programming language, which actually simplifies development and makes it pretty easy for a developer to build an app from scratch."
"It can be deployed on multiple platforms, and it can communicate with banks, web services, and data controls."
"Deployment to multiple platforms with single codebase Oracle support access."
"Very easy to use and start building apps for people with an Oracle ADF background."

Cons

"Applications need to be developed from scratch, so it is not suitable for huge applications, such as games."
"Google has a monopoly on tools for Android app development, so Android SDK is the only choice available."
"There are security issues in the Android platform, so it is more vulnerable to attack."
"I am still expecting Android SDK to incorporate flash or similar video tool capabilities."
"UI needs to improve, I feel since I come from a Microsoft RAD developer environment."
"The simulator comes up pretty slow. In the real time agile environment the simulator is not efficient to launch quickly and has some drawback in receiving the push notification."

"Deployment and run time performances can be improved."

"The license is not suitable for small to mid-level clients. I consider the license prices too expensive and Oracle MAF does not offer something new that other free frameworks offer."
"It is true that we are not as happy as we would like in terms of syncing."
"The performance of animations could be faster. Also, the applications archive is quite big and could be better."
"From my point of view, it would be desirable if Swagger would also be supported as a valid description format for custom APIs."
"One of the key areas in which MCS needs improvement is documentation. New features, like Zero Footprint SSO, need better documentation with detailed integration steps."
"It needs more native capabilities built into the platform, and alert messages without the need for plugins."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Android SDK can be cheap and can go high in terms of prices, and it all depends on who the customers are and what kind of application you want. One application may cost 5,000 USD and can go up from 1,00,000 to 2,00,000 USD."

"It is an open-source platform."
