Faced limitations with integration and long-term adaptability but benefited from a lightweight architecture for standalone applications
I find valuable and beneficial the independence that comes with Apache Web Server. You can build a small project using a simple application server without bothering too much about how to manage it. The compatibility with multiple operating systems has helped my operations since most of the time we use Linux. Some systems rely on Windows, but they are few; in the past, Windows was the dominant operating system for mainstream PCs and infrastructure, but not for business. All the companies I worked for had 90% Linux and maybe up to 10% Windows. The initial setup of Apache Web Server was straightforward and okay.

platform provides reliable infrastructure for core systems while optimizing performance for enterprise needs
One of the most valuable features of WebLogic Suite is its integration with JMS services and queue services. We are planning to migrate to an API-based application structure. We use the JMS and queue mechanism, requiring optimization to handle performance challenges related to upscaling load, application load, and end-user demands. Continuous monitoring and evaluation are necessary to optimize MQs, JMS, and JVM elements related to WebLogic Suite.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product is very cheap and stable."
"The solution's most valuable feature is reporting."
"The best thing about Apache is that it is open-source, so implementing my platform on-premises is less expansive than other solutions."
"The open-source nature is one of its most significant advantages."
"It is more secure to use Apache and you will have fewer problems than other web services."
"Apache Web Server is free of cost."
"Its community is its most valuable feature. Solving problems is easier on Apache because so many people know this product."
"Most of the features I liked were related to the performance during peak hours."
"It integrates various applications easily, provided there is a coder available."
"The program is scalable."
"WebLogic Suite is scalable."
"The transaction handling of WebLogic and the way it is designed is excellent."
"The solution is useful for centralizing data."
"Robust solution; console and enterprise management tools are really easy to work."
"What I've been seeing as the most valuable characteristics of WebLogic Suite include robustness and scalability. It's a really good solution, and I'm not saying this because my company is a partner of WebLogic Suite. I also like that with the newer versions of the solution, you can deploy WebLogic Suite faster. Oracle also provides excellent technical support."
"I have seen benefits from the middleware capability of WebLogic Suite for creating cohesive IT ecosystems, and it's stable."

Cons

"For NGINX, I think it has NGINX Management Suite, which is GUI-based and allows you to manage your configuration via the user interface, but Apache fails to offer such capabilities to users."
"It would be great if technical support for Apache were available in Iran. It is a very important need."
"Lacks integration with some cloud solutions."
"So far, for us, everything is okay."
"Adding a reverse proxy to Apache Web Server would be a significant improvement."
"I would like to see improvements in the functionality and core of Apache Web Server, focusing on building an infrastructure that can be resilient and robust enough to handle resource shortages, and fast enough in edge cases without crashing under too much traffic during spikes."
"A monitoring interface would be great for this product. The monitoring dashboards for Apache's models are not included in the basic installation. You can install the basic monitoring model, then connect this model to another monitoring system."
"The major issue occurs with ports. So, I would like to see easier port management."
"The content search is not easy."
"For access management, WebLogic Suite is a heavy application. This application requires more time for installation compared to other products."
"Support could be better. The expertise when we have some Oracle WebLogic issues and challenges is not there. The issues are not being addressed in time. This really needs to be improved going forward."
"Sometimes there are issues when we work on a VM because people use it to put all of their reports on it at the same time. Then I have to restart and rebuild the machine."
"Compared to Apache and Microsoft platform products, WebLogic Suite has implementation complexity."
"I noticed a few areas for improvement in WebLogic Suite. If you use the pure play higher-availability features, then yes, it can be switched over to the other system from the high-availability point of view, but that comes with a certain price. If you prefer simpler high-availability, that requires manual intervention. I'd also recommend a tuning feature in WebLogic Suite because it's not self-tuning, and this means you need thorough expertise to do the tuning and leverage the best benefit out of it. If Oracle makes WebLogic Suite automated or self-driven, then it becomes a wonderful product, similar to what Oracle did for the Autonomous Database which is self-driven or has an autonomous operating system. If automation is added in the next release of the solution, combined with more affordable pricing, though as a technical person, I know how much goes into having automation as a feature, and it could be difficult to lower the price, but if Oracle can do it, then that would make WebLogic Suite better."
"This solution doesn't have connectors to other external applications."
"The support is not good."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a free-of-cost solution."
"It is an open-source solution."
"There is no licensing cost for the product."
"The apache software is free, open-source."
"Technical support is very costly."
"There is a license required for this solution and the price could be reduced."
"The product comes bundled with Oracle Premier Support."
"The cost of the WebLogic Suite license is a bit high."
"Scaling is costly."
