Key features are roaming, application control and the firewall
We are partners of Aruba as well as sellers and customers. My job in the company is IP network engineer.  The roaming is a feature that works very well. In addition, the application control and firewall features are very good. These are all important features and make the product a valuable one.…

Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I haven't heard of any issues with stability."
"The most valuable feature is the end-user monitoring, and if there is any abnormal behavior on the machine, the administrator will be alerted."
"The roaming is a feature that works very well, and the application control and firewall features are very good, making the product a valuable one."
"Roaming feature, application control and firewall features."
"One of the biggest positive impacts of One Identity Safeguard on my organization is the improved control over privileged access; before implementing it, managing administrative credentials and tracking privileged activity required more manual effort, and after implementation, access became more structured and we had better visibility into who was accessing critical systems and when, which helped strengthen our security posture and made audit-related activities easier to manage."
"Regarding the usability and functionality, the UI is quite intuitive and simple to handle for new users."
"We are very pleased with the Safeguard platform feature."
"I achieved a good ROI with One Identity Safeguard through approximately thirty to forty percent reduction in manual user management effort, fewer password and local account issues, faster access management, and improved audit and compliance efficiency, which saved administrative time and improved security operations."
"The whole product solves the privileged access management challenge for our company. We have a secure tunnel, a secure session manager, and automatic logging of sessions, which is good for forensic purposes. We have a rich level of logs and can trace what happened on which machine and see who did what."
"It is easy to manage. There is a very logical, clear user interface. Also, the integration of scripts is thoughtfully implemented. Overall, it's a nice product to manage."
"It would be an excellent tool for the medium to large enterprise looking for a mature privileged access management solution."
"Now that we're able to audit log and record what is being done, we can play back all the sessions to make sure no type of unattended usage of the privilege or elevated credentials were being used, and from securing the bank standpoint, it has helped tremendously."

Cons

"Technical support is unfortunately a little slow."
"The dashboard could be simplified. You don't have a clear cut view and you have to dive deep into the options to gain some understanding."
"I would like to see improvements made to the dashboard, where you can get the information with a simple click."
"The packet analyzer needs improvement."
"One Identity's support is not appropriately structured, and it has a lot of room to improve."
"Transparent mode was too cumbersome, so I don't foresee us being able to use it. On paper when we were initially talking about it, it was definitely going to be the preferred method until we realized the burden it would be on our network guys. Then, we had to step back and reevaluate what we wanted to do. That's when we changed our approach to use the RD Gateway feature."
"Cost-wise, it is a little bit expensive, which makes it difficult to get management approval. Its price should be reduced."
"One key area is performance and resource usage, especially when advanced features like session recording or OCR are enabled."
"For the A2A use, it is not as easy as using something like HashiCorp's password management tools."
"One area for improvement in One Identity Safeguard would be reporting and dashboard customization; while the platform provides useful information, having more flexible and easier-to-customize reports would help with administration and gaining insights more quickly."
"One Identity Safeguard could be improved by simplifying the user interface and initial configuration process, especially for first-time users."
"We have feature requests and would like to see the turnaround times on those features to be faster."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The license is based on the number of users. The evaluation license is free, you can download it from the website and try it out first."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
"The license is around $3,000 per month."
"It is a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. You don't want to get anything too cheap because then you get cheap stuff and cheap support. That really never helps anybody."
"It is more expensive than Secret Server but way less expensive than CyberArk. As a customer, I would like the pricing to be lower, but it has a good price point."
"Safeguard is cheaper than CyberArk."
"They offer a fair price for a robust solution."
"Its subscription cost is too much, and sometimes, it is very difficult to pitch the solution to the management for cost approval. If the cost is reduced a little bit, it would be easier. If its cost was less, many other organizations that currently cannot afford it would be able to use this technology. I'm sure many organizations around the globe are having issues with identity management, and it is a very difficult task for IT to manage privileged accounts."
"As compared to other products, it is reasonable, but the training sessions are too expensive."
