Flexible and a good solution for user with different environments
The setup was generally easy. The most complex aspect was configuring the VPN. While not overly difficult, it was more challenging compared to setting up other VPNs. However, once we resolved the initial VPN configuration issue, everything has been smooth sailing. It's a matter of familiarity. Initially, the technology is unfamiliar, but with experience, configuration becomes easier. Deployment time: We didn't have any problems. We determined the implementation date, considered the transition for ourselves and our users, and it went smoothly. Maintenance: There isn't much required. If the stability, resolution, and capacity planning are correct for our needs, or if we need to expand storage, then maintenance is mostly handled by our banking team.

Transparency in cost estimation and budget maintenance is enhanced
At the beginning of the project, I estimate the cost and try to be transparent with the customer, letting them know the expected cost with a tolerance of plus or minus ten percent. If the requirement is clear, I estimate it for fifty to one hundred percent depending on their requirements. Any…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of AWS Savings Plans is we can discuss budgets briefly during our confirmation process since we are aware of our usual consumption patterns. Creating budgets in this regard would be beneficial, as it would allow us to consume only what we need, without including reserve instances that do not serve our purpose."
"AWS is consistently innovating and releasing new products and features."
"The initial setup is very easy."
"We find the analytics available via this solution to be very useful, as it allows us to easily see detailed cost information for each of our various subscription elements."
"I like the granularity of the tools."
"We don't actually use the Azure Cost Management features. We have our own capabilities. We put our own technology on top of Azure as Azure doesn't deliver a really good cost optimization, so our customers come to us to enhance what they're potentially doing inside their Azure platform."
"Good control features and user interface."
"The interface is good and user-friendly, allowing us to manage it proactively and efficiently. We use the budgeting and forecasting functions for financial planning, which work fine."
"I like the fact that you can set alerts on the predicted cost in Azure Cost Management."
"It is easy to log in, and everything is graphical so that you can build on the published resources."
"The most valuable features of Azure Cost Management are the ability to set standards or tagging policies and initiatives. You can achieve higher cost optimization."

Cons

"The most complex aspect was configuring the VPN."
"The visibility of AWS Savings Plans could improve."
"In the future, it would be interesting if there could be a combination of Savings Plans and some Reserved Servers."
"Azure Cost Management should be made cheaper."
"What would make Azure Cost Management better is a more flexible GUI that would allow users to provide more input. Another area for improvement in the solution is its reporting. The report it provides should be easy to understand."
"It would be nice if they could introduce connections to other clouds. It would be good to connect to AWS and Oracle cloud."
"I would like the developers to add more features about migration, like how much it would cost to migrate from, let's say, AWS to Azure."
"I'd like to see improvements in tracking billing and costs. It would be helpful to have alerts generated by instance and location. We use the cloud for multiple programs, and it's difficult to segregate costs and get budgets from customers. We have to tag each instance, which is time-consuming. Automation and proactive alerts by instance or instance IDs would be beneficial."
"The product's licensing cost could be improved."
"The product's foecasting needs improvement."
"There are significant issues with Power BI integration at the moment, particularly with built-in applications for course management. Multiple features don't allow for efficient report generation. This is one primary concern. The second issue relates to reporting, even when using Power BI templates for course management. There are problems with data import that require manual entry. So, these are the two main challenges I'm currently facing. Another matter to consider is the removal of the markup option for partners. I'm not sure if it will be added back, but it used to allow marking up Azure usage for enterprise customers. I'm uncertain if there's an alternative way to achieve the same function. Partners need to mark up services when selling to customers, and it's currently unavailable for some products or services."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to Azure or Google, the solution is much cheaper."
"You are charged based on how much you use the solution."
"Azure Cost Management is a free solution. The cost is only for Azure cloud."
"The subscription fees are primarily tailored to larger enterprises, potentially leaving smaller and medium-sized customers with limited options."
"We are using pay-as-you-go licenses mostly for our customers."
"Azure Cost Management comes as a part of other solutions. You need to pay as per your requirement based on the pay-as-you-go model."
"Pricing isn't applicable as it's included with the subscription. It depends on the services used. If you acquire any services on Azure, you pay for the subscription, and the billing or cost management is included for free."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten - the price could be lower."
"Compared to competitors, it's cost-effective. I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, with ten being expensive."
