Provides unified resource visibility and supports compliance requirements
Azure Resource Manager can be improved in several ways. It should support heterogeneous cloud integration. For example, if I have a cloud management portal from a private cloud provider such as Morpheus from HPE or other private cloud portals, and Azure Resource Manager could integrate with other clouds to give us unified resource utilization or management, that would be really good. Currently, it supports only Microsoft to Microsoft backend and does not support heterogeneous environments; it only supports homogeneous ones. Looking towards the future, I would like to see additional features or improvements in Azure Resource Manager because nowadays companies are going with a multi-cloud model. I am looking for unification of other clouds inside Azure Resource Manager.

On the identity product side, it is awesome. However, they can improve in the documentation parts. For example, if there is a migration process, I can see the maximum customers are moving from self-hosted to on-premises or from on-premises to the cloud. It would be helpful if they released a generalized document for processes such as migration. A clear overview document would assist us in understanding more about the tool, configurations, and automations to enhance our security. Regarding the initial setup of CyberArk Identity, I faced some challenges. At some points, I could not find proper documentation for deploying, enhancing, or integrating with other components. I could not find the proper documentation in the community portal.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product's initial setup phase was easy, as the documentation and information were very good."
"The solution is user friendly and it's easy to manage reserve incentives and to automate resources."
"Azure Resource Manager is extremely user-friendly and easy to deploy and understand."
"The most valuable feature is the vast resources available online."
"On the management side, Azure Resource Manager helps with things like team management. It also helps on the expert side. It helps us manage projects and services centrally, and it's very useful."
"Azure Resource Manager's Role-Based Access Control and ARM tagging features are excellent; Azure Stack Hub is very compliant with CSA, Q-Cert, 27107, and 27018, which is fantastic when it comes to data sovereignty and private cloud offering."
"The features for managing the subscriptions and assigning a group of resources to a project team are the most valuable."
"Azure Resource Manager's Role-Based Access Control and ARM tagging features are excellent."
"The tool helps with authentication. It acts as an MFA for any kind of privileged access that occurs in our organization."
"The integration capabilities, ability to integrate CyberArk into the overall IBB strategy of our current clients."
"The setup, via cloud, is simple."
"The features that I personally find most effective in terms of security stem from the fact that it is easy to integrate and also the adoption is faster."
"CyberArk Identity provides identity governance and gives me control over who and how access to environments occurs, offering significant confidentiality in what is accessed."
"We haven't encountered any problems with respect to the stability of this solution; it is very stable."
"The user identification is simplified, and managing user privileges, whether adding or revoking them, is also quite straightforward when utilizing CyberArk SaaS."
"The initial setup of CyberArk Identity was straightforward."

Cons

"They should focus more on AI features such as Copilot."
"At a group level, if I apply a policy, it gets cascaded to all the resources underneath it, but it is not possible when it comes to tags. When I apply tags at a group level, it should go to the resource under it."
"Unlike Terraform, Azure Resource Manager is hard to maintain and modularize and has room for improvement."
"Azure Resource Manager can be improved in several ways. It should support heterogeneous cloud integration."
"It would be helpful if they would create a common line within the user interface so that if you want to automate or scale a reserve deployment, it can be done simply."
"I'm not at all happy with their support. Over the years, whenever we raised an issue, we never got clear and understandable support."
"Compared to ARM templates, Terraform is often preferred because it is more versatile and user-friendly. With Terraform, you can create a single, generic script that works across multiple cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and even Oracle Cloud. This eliminates the need to write separate scripts for each platform."
"They can maybe improve the interface."
"CyberArk Identity is kind of expensive."
"The product is not cheap, especially if you opt for an on-premise deployment requiring a complex server infrastructure. On the other hand, choosing the software as a service version simplifies infrastructure requirements but necessitates being online all the time."
"I'm not sure what needs improvement. It is a good platform."
"They could improve their UI and make everything more user-friendly."
"They can include the Mobile Device Management (MDM) feature."
"One area for improvement is the complexity of the learning curve for new users."
"Some areas experience slowness based on the workload. There's a need to enhance network performance despite the good user experience with access management."
"In terms of a governance platform, it's worth noting that CyberArk doesn't offer a particularly strong one."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay $15,000 to $20,000 a month for the service and it is worth the cost."
"The solution is open-source."
"It's not that affordable compared to Delinea or other products. They're less expensive and allow more customization. For the cost, it is expensive."
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a seven out of ten. The product’s pricing is expensive and is on a yearly basis. You will need to pay around 10,000 GBP for 500 users."
"There could be some additional costs apart from the licensing costs of the solution when you want to develop connectors in CyberArk Identity."
"I think it is a fairly priced tool. I rate the tool between six and seven on a scale of one to ten where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
"CyberArk Identity is an expensive solution."
"The pricing of CyberArk Identity is competitive."
"In terms of pricing, BeyondTrust and CyberArk tend to be more expensive, with CyberArk receiving an eight out of ten, in this regard."
"There is an initial license and then there is a subscription needed."
