The analytics and reporting can be a bit overwhelming. I love the dashboards, but I find that I need to better understand PowerQuery—specifically when to turn it on and off and its limitations. It's similar to SharePoint in that regard. As a former SharePoint instructor, I know it like the back of my hand. The best thing about SharePoint is that it can do whatever you want; the worst part is also that it can do whatever you want. You really need to know what you want before diving in. Most people usually have a good idea of what they need. SharePoint offers a lot out of the box, but you can customize it further if you wish. However, customization often requires hiring someone, which can be risky since you never know if it will work as intended. On the other hand, PowerQuery can help bridge some of those gaps within Singularity. The challenge arises when you want to incorporate what you've done into dashboards and charts, as there are limitations. For instance, I want more clickable drill-down options that allow me to filter on specific sections of the data, but that's currently not possible. It’s not to say that improvements won’t come in the future; it's just that it feels a bit early at this stage. Additionally, I find some navigation features frustrating, like the back button in certain contexts. For example, if you open PowerQuery from a chart, it doesn't open in a new window or tab. Clicking the back button takes you all the way back to the previous state, causing you to lose whatever progress you made. However, I'm actively providing this feedback to my partner, Pro Circular, through whom we access SentinelOne. They take our input seriously, and I've been sharing my observations. They have their own views but are addressing the issues I raise. It's good to see that suggestions occasionally lead to updates and improvements.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution has exchange protection. It has a content control, device control, a firewall, and anti-malware as well. They are all quite valuable features for us."
"The endpoint protection is the solution's most valuable feature."
"I like the simplicity of this solution and the fact that it saves us time. The deployment was really straightforward and useful and I am impressed by the anti-virus endpoint detection and response offered by this solution."
"Singularity's rollback feature is one of the primary reasons we bought the product. If there's an attack on the machine, the system can automatically roll back the data and the hard drive of the machine that was attacked."
"The XDR is a valuable feature."
"The terminating or killing remediation process that they use is top-notch. Pretty much anything that is even remotely malicious gets blocked by it within seconds. That is important for us. We have thousands of endpoints with tens of thousands of users. It is hard to do good security for that many people without some kind of automated detection and response. That is what SentinelOne does for us. It helps us automate that process."
"SentinelOne is the next-generation EDR solution."
"The web portal has a really good web UI, and all the things are well integrated."
"Another valuable feature is that if a machine is infected, one that may infect other computers within the network, we have the capability of segregating that machine in the network so that it remains connected to the internet but is cut off from the other machines in the network. That helps prevent spreading of the infection. That's a very unique feature, one I have not seen in the last 10 to 15 years from any other antivirus program. That's amazing."
"The threat detection and prevention capabilities are valuable, providing development programming support that enables us to perform fair investigations."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete has shown a return on investment with its ability to detect threats at approximately 99% efficiency."

Cons

"The database needs improvement. It needs to be updated quite a bit."
"There needs to be better integration with the environment. Especially, for the active directory and also for keeping up with the changes from Microsoft. We use a lot of Microsoft OS. I have noted that sometimes they lag behind Microsoft updates. For example, when with Windows 10. I had some issues with deploying to Windows 10 because the solution was behind in updating their own services to match the Microsoft release."
"There are blurred lines between anti-virus and endpoint detection so I would say it can be confusing when you are considering buying this program. I would like to see that being explained better to the customer."
"The compatibility with new legacy systems should be enhanced as other EDR products support these systems, which Singularity does not."
"There is room for improvement with the management interface. It could be more user friendly."
"We'd like to have a network map or scan to cover network security."
"It has all the features that other leading products in the market provide. They should keep enhancing it based on the challenges in the market. I am fine with its detection capability, but they can work more on deep inspection."
"I don't think there is real-time threat intelligence within SentinelOne Singularity Complete, and if there is, I'm not using it."
"It's good on Linux, and Windows is pretty good except that the Windows agents sometimes ask for a lot of resources on the endpoints. That could be in the fine-tuning for scanning. In Mac, they are complaining about the same problems, that it's using a lot of resources, but that could also be that we have to configure what it is scanning and what it should not scan. Currently it scans everything."
"SentinelOne could improve by reducing the price."
"There are features that I would like them to add. They have little to do with endpoint protection, but if they could add encryption and DLP on, it would make it even better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There's a yearly cost for licensing. For us, that comes to $1,400. There are no additional costs beyond the license itself."
"Their pricing was extremely competitive. That is why we stayed with them so long. We are renewing at the end of next month. We have already put in the approval. It is all set to go. We are renewing for another year or so year over year. It has been a very effective product, and it has been priced very competitively."
"The one I use is $6 a month per device. Some are $4 and there are some that are more than that."
"The licensing is convenient, straightforward, and very clear."
"I rate Singularity Complete four out of 10 for affordability. SentinelOne costs more than traditional antivirus solutions, but we get more out of it. It hasn't saved us any money, but it's an EDR solution, so we get a lot of value from it."
"The larger count you have, the deeper discount you will receive in your contract."
"My understanding is that we did a pretty good deal on SentinelOne. A part of that is because we were their customers very early on, and we also use their products a lot. We are interested in the new products that come out. We go to their demos, and we go to their events. We do save a lot of money. It is not cheap, but it is worth it. We spend a lot of money on a lot of things, and most of them do not do as much as SentinelOne."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete is expensive compared to Microsoft but not Sophos."
"At this time it is only a trial. After the trial period, I am going to purchase two licenses from SentinelOne."
