6.6
Globalscape EFT excels in scalability, ease of expansion, and reliability, despite needing platform optimization and a web version.
I have to pay per agent per server, which could be prohibitive for some organizations.
While I sometimes find difficulties with GCP, it works fine and flawlessly on AWS, especially since we have a large customer base and vendors where we send numerous files daily.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
7.9
BMC Control-M Managed File Transfer is highly stable, reliable, handles heavy workloads, and receives positive user stability ratings.
Sentiment score
5.9
Globalscape EFT is stable generally, with occasional issues in on-prem deployments, scaling challenges, and rare slowness mostly resolved.
Sometimes we encounter error logging issues or the system goes down, requiring us to connect with the cloud engineer.

Room For Improvement

BMC Control-M needs API expansion, cloud integration, user interface improvements, cost reduction, better support, security enhancements, and streamlined deployment.
Globalscape EFT struggles with cloud integration, large file handling, and requires interface, performance, auditing, and functionality improvements.
It is adequate for most scheduling needs.
BMC is already improving in artificial intelligence and integration with cloud.
If I'm transferring large batches, it takes them in threads. Globalscape EFT uploads the files on a threading basis, such as 100 files at a time, and the rest of the files will be in a queue system.
In one instance, while working on sending files from one folder to different vendors with different loops for every condition, the upload activity went out of the loop, resulting in all files being sent to the same vendor.

Setup Cost

BMC Control-M Managed File Transfer is costly but valuable, with pricing flexibility and additional module expenses for enterprises.
Globalscape EFT is cost-effective with flexible licensing, appreciated for robust features, easy setup, and overall enterprise value.
It operates as a pay-as-you-go model.

Valuable Features

BMC Control-M enhances efficiency and reliability with seamless integration, robust security, flexible transfers, and an intuitive interface.
Globalscape EFT offers user-friendly interfaces, strong security, and integration features, ideal for high-volume, complex, and compliant data management.
If I have a staff that operates Control-M on Windows Server, they will easily pick it up if they need to run it on Unix or mainframes. It's the same interface, saving time and improving efficiency.
The best features with MFT are accurate file transfer and visibility for file transfers.
It is flexible because you can modify many aspects in Globalscape EFT.

Improve operational efficiency through workflow orchestration
Its stability and the feature list are rich compared to other tools in the market. I have experienced a thirty percent reduction in operational time for developers, increasing efficiency in workflow orchestration design. The UI is great, with a minimal learning curve and caters to both click-and-monitor users and those who want to code.
Sumit Mundik - PeerSpot reviewer
Includes encryption and decryption functionalities with advanced workflow engine
The most effective feature is its advanced workflow engine. Another feature is the flexibility of the code we use to create tasks. For example, with other tools, you receive only one notification upon completing or failing the task. However, in Globalscape, you can set up step-by-step email notifications. For instance, if you pick up a file from the source location, you can add a condition to send an email notification to a specific address once that step is successful. Conversely, a different notification can be sent to a designated address if the step fails. This allows us to receive notifications for each process step without waiting for the entire task to complete.
