The identity manager, governance, and identity portal features are especially valuable and helpful
I found all of the features to be quite valuable, especially the identity manager, governance, and identity portal. All of the features are helpful The connectors for the identity and governance part could use some improvement, by way of adding more areas. They need more development to cover more…

Centralized access control has improved secure onboarding and supports strict compliance
I wish we had used ForgeRock's adaptive risk-based authentication, which allows dynamic adjustment of authentication requirements based on user behavior. This could have helped us further strengthen our security. Another hidden gem is the built-in support for custom authentication modules and scripting, which gives a great deal of flexibility to tailor authentication flows. The self-service capabilities for password resets and account recovery have been very helpful in reducing support overhead and improving user experience. Discovering and utilizing these features would have definitely made our integration even smoother and would have provided additional value for both our users and our security team. One area of improvement would be the user interface for policy and workflow configuration, which can become complex and sometimes unintuitive, especially for new administrators. A more streamlined and user-friendly UI would help reduce the learning curve. Enhanced out-of-the-box analytics and reporting would also be valuable, as our current options often require custom development or integration with external tools. While extensibility is a strength, documentation for advanced customizations and integrations could be more comprehensive and easier to follow. Improved support for seamless upgrades and backward compatibility would also help minimize downtime. In terms of performance, optimizing the platform for high concurrency environments would be beneficial, especially for organizations with large user bases or peak usage periods. Enhanced scalability features such as more granular or horizontal scaling options would provide better support for distributed deployments. For integrations, having more pre-built connectors and easy integration with modern cloud-native services would accelerate adoption. Improved monitoring and real-time health dashboards would help proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My favorite feature of the suite is, of course, the provisioning aspect of it, as it allows you to provision accounts within minutes instead of waiting weeks, which is a huge benefit for business at the end of the day so that you can get your workers up and running in a timely fashion."
"The most valuable feature is the re-certification campaign capabilities."
"You can spin up IDM or Identity Suite in a few hours and it is ready to use."
"I find the UI much simpler than the previous version."
"The most valuable feature is the speed of implementation, because now with the Virtual Appliance it is much faster, and in the past to implement this kind of solution would take many weeks, but now it takes one day or minutes and we have the deployment ready."
"Single Sign-On is valuable."
"Easy and quick integration of CA Identity Suite with company systems improves security and provides a quicker ROI by decreasing the time we need to spend on these tasks."
"With the Virtual Appliance, combined with CA Identity Manager and GovernanceMinder as one solution, it eliminates having multiple infrastructure requirements, multiple products, and gives a holistic view of the access granting."
"Flexibility in the customisation. Out-of-the-box support for almost all authentication mechanisms/products."
"It works very well, especially in Identity and Access Management. It helps detect anomalies in user behavior patterns."
"This is a stable solution. When you do experience any issues, you will see it in your DB logs or audit logs so you can easily reach a conclusion of might be causing it."
"Easy to navigate, handle and manage the applications."
"We were previously using a different solution, and switched as this product provided much better, and more efficient security for our customers."
"I like the ease of navigating, handling and managing the applications and end-user profiles."
"Installation and configuration are pretty easy for ForgeRock OpenIDM."
"The support team is better than the other product we were using."

Cons

"However, although it's a lot easier than some other tools that we've worked with, we always want more training."
"We would like to see more analytics in the solution."
"The key feature I would like to see is close loop remediation, which is in conjunction with CA Identity Governance today."
"I think CA is too heavy and can't do some things out-of-the-box, so I can't tell you that I love Identity Suite, because right now I don't."
"The connectors for the identity and governance part could use some improvement, by way of adding more areas. They need more development to cover more target applications."
"The documentation can be improved because sometimes we have some technical issues that were not documented and we have to rely on support to solve them. Then there are issues around getting the architecture, but it's challenging to get the architecture."
"I would like synchronization when a mapping is added between end points. Currently, the synchronization is not complete. It would be great if this synchronization happened immediately."
"If there was a seamless integration between portal and IdentityMinder, then that would help a bit, but I don't see many challenges yet."
"The product's customization is a bit complicated."
"If a customer is looking for an identity management solution, then, I can't recommend it, but if they are asking for an access management product then I can strongly recommend this solution."
"It's hard to speak with ForgeRock. It's very expensive."
"Initial setup was complex because of the customizations needed."
"A point for improvement would be to bring more of these errors to the UI for administrators to help them understand what happened and how to fix it."
"The user interface could be improved as it is cumbersome and outdated. It doesn't have a responsive UI."
"ForgeRock is extremely flexible, but the learning curve can be steep."
"In an upcoming release, the solution could improve by limiting the need to do customizations."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing of the solution is fair but I do not have the full details."
"The license is purchased annually per user. However, you can negotiate if you are signing for a longer period of time. When comparing this solution to others on the market it is priced fair, it is not at the top of the price range or at the bottom end."
"Its price is comparable to other products in the market."
"It's a bit pricey and could be more competitive."
"We have multiple clients we are looking at right now. We are at a very small number, however, the idea and the goal is to grow. We are looking at about $100,000 and $50,000 a minimum a month cost. That'd be minimum maybe in a couple of years."
"ForgeRock is an expensive solution."
"ForgeRock's pricing is more competitive than other products."
"Its licensing is on a yearly basis, but it also depends on the contract that you have with the vendor. They have multiple types of contracts. There are additional costs to the standard licensing fees. If you need some of the features, you have to pay more."
