Manageable, provides excellent support, and easily integrates with other products
One central area for improvement in Cisco is its product line offering. Cisco has ISE and other products, such as DNS Center and other components. Instead of small to medium-sized customers purchasing devices and maintaining the devices, it would be great if customers could have subscriptions. A CAPEX/OPEX model instead of that Cisco code, where the pricing model is subscription-based, would give much better flexibility for the customers. The pricing and model for Cisco Cloud Services Router and other Cisco products could be improved. One good example of what I want to be added to the Cisco Cloud Services Router in its next version is for it to be more of a plug-and-play product. For example, Juniper has developed QR codes, so if you need to plug in a device, you scan from your phone and connect to the internet. That's it. You can provision the device remotely through the cloud orchestrator, so I want to see a similar function or feature in Cisco Cloud Services Router.

Reliable border connectivity with responsive support but there's room for more intuitive documentation
The documentation is somewhat lacking and not easy to navigate. There are some errors and misleading information. The general appearance of the company site is also not user-friendly for downloading firmware. Firmware updates should be more straightforward. More security features would be appreciated, however, they should be easy to understand and implement.

Quotes from Members

"It seems pretty stable. We have never had any issues with it."
"Overall, it is a solid product and a good router."
"It allowed us to create a more secure VPN than we would have been able to do without it."
"Overall we have found the solution to be satisfactory."
"The solution provides support for 5G connectivity."

"I use the product to connect to various access points to extend my network."
"The scalability is good."
"The product is easy to improve and deploy in terms of configuration for engineers and technical executives."
"This product uses a non-proprietary command line, which makes it compatible across many different systems."

Cons

"It is too complex. It is not easy to set up, even with the documentation that they provided. It is a little confusing."
"The initial setup is easy for one device but is more complex when numerous devices need to be configured."
"It could grow or adapt to changes in the cloud. For example, cloud does not support autoscaling. When people want to grow, they have to do manual activities."
"They have an online registration that happens after they pick up block months. If they could decrease to yearly or something, sometimes the device is not cell phone accessible. That becomes an issue or challenge for us. If that can be improved, that would be really great."
"I would like to see better security, where there are more access controls and data confidentiality."
"A CAPEX/OPEX model, where the pricing model is subscription-based, would give much better flexibility for the customers. The pricing and model for Cisco Cloud Services Router and other Cisco products could be improved."
"There should be a system in place to help existing users make an easier transition to the newer interfaces."
"If you lose connectivity to the cloud, it is difficult to establish connectivity between hub and spoke."
"The product’s performance could be better."
"The only problem I see is configuration loss."
"We'd like the product to be more flexible so that we could more easily manipulate some of the features."
"In the next release of this solution, I would like to see better bandwidth management, more granular web filtering, and portal authentication."

"The internet speed reduces throughout the day. The tool is not stable."
"In my country we don't have Huawei technology, we only have Huawei routers for ISP. There is no agent for Huawei in Egypt."
"We have encountered issues while integrating the product with Enterprise Management Systems. Huawei platform is good for Huawei but we face issues when we integrate it with other models."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Purchasing it through the AWS Marketplace was very simple. We went through the AWS Marketplace because it was the easiest way to get the product up and running very quickly."
"We would prefer to go through the vendor instead of AWS, as we have a relationship with the vendor and can get discounts directly from them. Going through the vendor, it is much cheaper for us. Though, we would still keep it hosted on AWS."
"Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was easy; click a button and you have it."
"The pricing is fine, though it might have been cheaper going through a partner or doing a direct buy."
"The cost needs improvement. It is very expensive through the AWS Marketplace."

"Purchasing the product on the AWS Marketplace was very simplistic. Our organization was trying to centralize our billing costs, and simplicity was best."
"The tool's licensing is yearly."
"The price of the solution is fair."
"The product is expensive."
"The product is inexpensive, but there is an extra cost for replacement of the device."
"Huawei offers a cheaper enterprise router solution than Cisco."
"There is no licence for this solution, but the solution could be cheaper."
"The solution's price is reasonable."
"The solution is cheap compared to Cisco."
