Centralized visibility has improved monitoring while integration and automation still need progress
I can tell several advantages of Cisco Nexus Dashboard like centralized management that allows managing and monitoring multiple Nexus switches and data center fabrics from one platform. It provides multi-site visibility because of the visibility across multiple data center sites. There are plenty of parameters, and the automation is more advanced than it was earlier, which has reduced manual work in automation. Real-time monitoring, health performance, and network status visibility, as well as analytics, both historical and real-time telemetry, help identify performance issues. End-to-end visibility refers to the reliability from the application to the end user. This is a major benefit, as it includes application to networking visibility, traffic flow visibility, fabric-wide health monitoring, interface error and packet drops, latency and performance monitoring. Cisco Nexus Dashboard also provides multi-site visibility and proactive identification of network issues.

Has provided centralized management and simplified node configuration across customer environments
Regarding Nutanix Prism's single pane overview, the limitation is that you cannot troubleshoot all errors from Prism Central; you sometimes need to log into the CLI to change settings such as the IP address of the CVM in the AHV. There are no other areas of Nutanix Prism that I would suggest for improvement, but adding the IP address change feature would make it easier.

Pros

"Customers who have adopted Cisco Nexus Dashboard experience benefits due to their existing Nexus infrastructure, which typically includes twenty to thirty switches arranged in a leaf and spine architecture."
"I can tell several advantages of Cisco Nexus Dashboard like centralized management that allows managing and monitoring multiple Nexus switches and data center fabrics from one platform."
"What I like the most about Cisco Nexus Dashboard is the easier way to know exactly which device is connected to where."
"The feature I appreciate most about Cisco Nexus Dashboard is the ability to control everything in one centralized place."
"Regarding return on investment for Cisco Nexus Dashboard, I would say 100%."
"Cisco Nexus Dashboard is very advanced and very smart, and it has a Cisco brand name to it."
"Nutanix Prism is priced better than some of the competing solutions."
"Nutanix Prism's dashboard is very simple, and you don't need much knowledge to use it."
"You can go directly to the Prism dashboard and it gives you all the information. It's easy to use. I have worked on other platforms but the single pane of glass that Prism has is very helpful for seeing what's going on in your environment: usage, storage, capacity, and behavior."
"Since we began using Nutanix the performance for virtual desktops is much better."
"Simplicity of use."
"The Clone and Snapshot features are two of the most valuable aspects of the solution for our organization. Rather than simply one-click automation the Snapshot and reverse Snapshot are great."
"Nutanix Prism is a very stable solution."
"The solution's technical support is helpful and responsive."

Cons

"In terms of scalability, Cisco has lots of limitations, and unnecessary licensing will be involved."
"In terms of potential improvement areas for Cisco Nexus Dashboard, I think licensing could be better, which is the main thing I can think of."
"The professional services and license is expensive everywhere."
"In terms of significant differences between Arista and Cisco, Arista takes a multi-vendor approach while Cisco Nexus Dashboard remains mostly Cisco-centric."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Cisco Nexus Dashboard is that it is expensive."
"The first time when we got Cisco deployed, for some reason, it was not as scalable as how we wanted because the leaves stopped growing after approximately 150 or something."
"The price could be improved."
"Does not yet have micro application using a company's provider."
"The dashboard visibility could be improved."
"The automation needs to be improved, as there are several challenges."
"The initial setup is extremely complex. I am Nutanix Certified, so I had the ability, but there were still things that we weren't trained in. They mandate—not recommend, but mandate—having an approved installer do it, and it was a very painful process. The installer that we took from CDW was not good, in the extreme. I had to go back to Nutanix directly and get all the problems fixed."
"Although this solution has very good analytics capabilities, it can be even more granular."
"There are no firewall policies, and they should be added in the next release."
"There are a few areas related to visibility on the dashboard that can be improved. It's good, but the visibility can be improved in terms of single locations."
