Efficiently generates alerts for suspicious activities and scales easily
There are two areas of improvement. Firstly, extend the log retrieval limit to at least three months. For example, there is a limit on the number of log messages that can be received. So, I would like to expand the log retrieval limit. And another thing, if we migrate these things to an event or send us an email if there is any critical event, I would like to configure these things on the initial launch. Because if a system is compromised, there will be a lot of data movement from one post to another post to the outside. Then, we should also get an alert on email as well. We have since we have integrated these things. But a direct email for critical alerts should be there. So, I would like to enhance the critical event configuration. If a new user wants to learn how it should work, how policies work, and where we can configure policies, there should be some learning material for this product.

Vulnerability management has prioritized high‑risk patching and simplified bulk system reporting
The primary issue is with the reporting functionality. Even though we fix vulnerabilities, the reports do not reflect the changes immediately. Sometimes we need to manually run a script to scan the systems before Qualys Enterprise TruRisk Management will update the scan results. The main issue is the reporting delay, and sometimes the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk Management agent will not scan the system, which means we do not receive accurate reports in a timely manner. Additionally, there are many metrics for calculating vulnerabilities, such as the Qualys ID, severity scores, CVSS scores, and other metrics. The abundance of information can be confusing. These two aspects are the most significant negatives I have experienced with this tool.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When it comes to scalability, there's no size limit. It varies based on licenses and requirements."
"It tells you if there is any communication going to command and control servers, or if there is any traffic that violates your internal policy, or if any data hoarding is happening where data is being dumped from your machine to outside of the environment. It provides all such meaningful reports to help you understand what's happening."
"We were able to prevent an electric fraud of almost $200,000."
"The tool's best feature is its ability to monitor network traffic. It will also inform users whether the traffic generated by a network is legitimate. The tool helps to capture and analyze the network traffic."
"My advice to others is Cisco has great solutions and I would recommend them."
"The logs in Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud are very good when doing the API integration in the team. It is able to give you important information for the correlations."
"I would recommend Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud 100 percent."
"The product helps me to see malware."
"Detects new hosts along with vulnerabilities."
"I like Qualys because it is a very complete product, more so than Tenable."
"The initial setup and onboarding process of Qualys VMDR was quite smooth, as we were able to draft the SOPs from the documentation portal itself and everything was available in the documentation, so it was not a hassle for us to get the integrations done on time."
"I found the solution quite intuitive and easy going."
"Qualys VMDR is easy to understand and provides detailed reports."
"The most valuable feature is the vulnerability assessment."
"The Qualys Agent is most valuable for getting insight into what is happening on what device with all its metadata."
"The most recent is VMDR, which provides a comprehensive overview of how to detect, patch, and remediate specific vulnerabilities."

Cons

"The product needs to improve its user-friendliness. It is very tricky and you need to study it before using the standard functionalities."
"When I used to work on it, I just didn't see anything new happening for about a year and a half. Providing newer data and newer reports constantly would help. There should be more classifications and more interesting data."
"The initial setup of Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud is complex."
"The initial setup is a bit complex in terms of deployment and configuration."
"Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud could improve the graphical user interface. It could be a more user-friendly graphical user interface. so that. Not everybody's a cyber security professional, most of the customers that I deal with are not very skilled. The terms that they use in the solution are quite understandable for a normal CIO."
"If we migrate these things to an event or send us an email if there is any critical event, I would like to configure these things on the initial launch. Because if a system is compromised, there will be a lot of data movement from one post to another post to the outside. Then, we should also get an alert on email as well. "The product's price is high."
"Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud could improve the graphical user interface. It could be a more user-friendly graphical user interface."
"It's quite complex on the way it is set up, so it takes a fair bit of time in order to get your head around it in order to deploy it. Once you've deployed it, then you're never confident on the versions of the browsers and the SSL certificates, etc. You have to always go back into Qualys and check."
"Sometimes the scanning can get overwhelmed and start to drag when a lot of users are trying to scan at once."
"The reporting and dashboards could improve in Qualys VM. However, they have improved since the previous versions."
"It would be helpful to have features for better tracking, including options for adding relevant owners or supporting groups for each asset."
"Some of the older features could be polished instead of focusing on releasing new features."
"In terms of improvement for the web application console, in the older version, things were more segregated and presented in a brief format."
"The IT infrastructure, especially server administration, needs to be improved."
"The main issue is the reporting delay, and sometimes the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk Management agent will not scan the system, which means we do not receive accurate reports in a timely manner."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud is an expensive enterprise solution."
"The price of Cisco Stealthwatch Cloud is expensive."
"The solution is quite expensive."
"Qualys VM is better suited for medium to large companies because the price can be too much for smaller customers."
"Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance isn't expensive right now. But the price for their product bundles could be better."
"The license is on a yearly basis."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing is very competitive."
"There is a license for the use of this solution. We pay annually instead of monthly to receive a better discount on the price."
"The solution is reasonably priced for the value it provides."
"Qualys VM is quite expensive. It's a subscription-based license, and it's yearly. Right now, it's open for me, and I don't have any limitations or caps on the licenses. They are seeing if the product is viable for 4500 users. I can add as much as I want, and at the end of the subscription, they'll let me know how many licenses were actually used and bill me accordingly. On a scale from one to five, I would give their pricing a three. It's still expensive."
