Straightforward implementation, scalable, but performance could improve
When using Cisco VXI in virtual environments there tends to be a lot of bugs with files you have to deploy across the virtual environment. You configure for hours, and then there is a bug that stops you, and you notice that you wasted hours. There's always room for improvement with these virtual environments because you're not dealing with the actual equipment, you're dealing with a virtual version of it that you have to install in a virtual environment. The performance of Cisco VXI could improve. It requires a lot of hardware and even if you install it on a server it is heavy on resources.

From my perspective, there is significant room for improvement in Horizon 8. Many customers are actively seeking alternatives to VMware due to recent licensing changes after Broadcom's acquisition, necessitating upgrades or bundles that they often do not require. Given that Omniser builds on VMware technologies, this creates a negative perception, pushing customers to consider different brands or solutions.

Pros

"The initial setup of Cisco VXI is straightforward."
"The solution has been doing a good job for us."
"The initial setup is very simple and straightforward."
"The console is straightforward and easy to understand for the end user. It can be deployed on any device, including iPads and Mac OS. Users can access their daily applications and resources provided by the VMware Horizon environment from any device."
"The solution has provided flexibility by allowing an end user to remote in, log in, and get their VM VDI session and have all the icons and applications they need to use and retain the same booking view regardless of location."
"One of the most interesting features in the enterprise version is the ability to do some support. There is a feature for remote control and debugging, which is something we didn't have before having Horizon 7 and the enterprise version."
"In my opinion, this product should be the first environment that an enterprise company must consider."
"The most valuable feature is that VMware Horizon is easy to setup."
"This product is great for desktop management, particularly when it comes to all the upgrades."
"The thin image offers efficiency and stability for the system, which is not always available in other alternatives."

Cons

"When using Cisco VXI in virtual environments there tends to be a lot of bugs with files you have to deploy across the virtual environment. You configure for hours, and then there is a bug that stops you, and you notice that you wasted hours."
"There could be some improvement with the automation of the setup. If deployment and configuration were simplified, more companies will choose the product."
"User profiles are something that needs to be improved."
"Many improvements to this product are needed."
"The technical support offered by VMware is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"Ranking these, I would say that Citrix is first with a mark of 80%, Microsoft is second with a mark of 60%, and VMware is third with a mark of 50%."
"View Persona has less features than UEM, and it doesn’t seem updated, which makes a difference for standard edition users."
"The integration could be improved."
"The initial setup was not difficult but there is room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an expensive solution when there are bugs. I'm always ready to give money for a complete solution where there are no bugs in it, but you will never find it."
"The price of VMware Horizon 7 is more than some other solutions."
"VMware Horizon is priced high."
"It falls on the more expensive end in terms of cost."
"The pricing is quite reasonable."
"VMware Horizon is expensive. It should provide a special price for more user licenses."
"For long-term use, perpetual licenses are more cost-effective, and for short-term use, subscription-based would be more cost-effective."
"The pricing could be improved."
"Customers pay a licensing fee."
