Zero trust architecture strengthens security with seamless login experiences and reliable global access
The solution requires proper configuration and policy enforcement to avoid excessive access restrictions. Some applications may need additional integration efforts for seamless access, and I may face restrictions if device posture fails compliance checks. The licensing cost could be higher compared to traditional VPN solutions, and advanced features may require premium tiers and add-ons. Initial setup and policy tuning can be complex, especially in large environments.

Their product is solid. I have a hard time complaining much about it because when we do find little things, they are usually interface-related or related to things that would be nice to have. Their idea portal, unlike so many other vendors we deal with, shows movement. At least four to eight features of ThreatLocker exist because I made a request in the last five years, and it became a feature of the actual product. When it comes to improvements, we moved the product as customers, and we got to move the product by making suggestions. They seem to be very reactive to it, so there is not a whole lot that they actively need to change right now. It is one of those situations where when we run into something that would be nice to have, it happens. They make it work.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is easy and simple, and it has got an easy interface. It is not hard to learn. With just three clicks, you log in, and you're there."
"Virtual desktops and virtual apps are most valuable."
"The most valuable feature of Citrix Secure Private Access is its Zero Trust architecture, which enhances security by granting access based on identity and device posture."
"The control list is the best feature. For our company, it provides value to our customers since they can see we are improving our security."
"We are seeing a return on investment, especially with our managers and customers."
"Overall, I would rate ThreatLocker Zero Trust Endpoint Protection Platform a ten out of ten."
"ThreatLocker Protect has improved my organization greatly."
"We use ThreatLocker's Allowlisting to whitelist specific applications and prevent unauthorized software from running."
"Overall, I would rate ThreatLocker Zero Trust Endpoint Protection Platform a ten out of ten."
"It is a comprehensive platform that allows you to do a lot of things."
"The application management on any workstation with the solution is valuable. I find it valuable that it indicates whether the software is part of our pre-approved list, adding a nice layer of protection. It works great because people cannot just install or download any app from the web."

Cons

"The licensing cost could be higher compared to traditional VPN solutions, and advanced features may require premium tiers and add-ons."
"When we go to print, we have to go through secure print. The secure printing kind of takes a while. It is a little latent."
"INGPU for engineering software is an area of improvement."
"It would be beneficial to have a tighter integration into PSA systems so that approvals can be done directly without having to leave the PSA."
"I'm not sure if I'm using it wrong; however, I find that I have to babysit it too much."
"Initially, the learning curve was slightly high for me, however, that has been resolved now."
"This is my first Zero Trust conference, and so far, it has been good. The only thing I have noticed is that sometimes they encounter technical issues. For example, in one of the demo labs, the laptop trying to connect to the projector was not working, which affected the demonstration of the victim versus attacker laptop scenarios. It would be helpful to fix these issues."
"The support could be quicker. There are times when there is a delay in getting a response. This is problematic when immediate attention is needed."
"A valuable addition to ThreatLocker would be a column in the audit page displaying a VirusTotal score for each file."
"ThreatLocker could offer more flexible training, like online or offline classes after hours. The fact that they even provide weekly training makes it seem silly to suggest, but some people can't do it during the day, so they want to train after work. They could also start a podcast about issues they see frequently and what requires attention. A podcast would be helpful to keep us all apprised about what's going on and/or offline training for those people who can't train during the week."
"The Cyber Hero certification exam could use a bit of love, but overall, I have been very satisfied with the platform."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees. They should provide better licensing options."
"Others say ThreatLocker is too expensive, and I tell them they're dreaming. It's well-priced for what it does."
"The pricing is fair and there is no hard sell."
"The pricing is pretty fair, considering other solutions. Licensing-wise, it did not take long."
"The price of ThreatLocker Allowlisting is reasonable in the market, but it is not fantastic."
"We have not had any real issues with the pricing. As they have added more features, due to the way our contracts are structured with our customers, we have had to hold off on adopting the new features because they do add costs."
"So far, it has been great. I have no complaints. Of course, everybody wishes it was cheaper."
"I can't complain. Cheaper would always be nice, but I think it's reasonable compared to other software in the cybersecurity market."
"I find ThreatLocker's pricing to be reasonable for the services it provides."
