Incremental backup simplifies content recovery with beneficial features for email and file services
Almost all the features are valuable for Microsoft 365, specifically signatures and backup for email services and files for Microsoft. It is a full module suitable for any organization. The incremental backup feature is beneficial as it allows me to restore any imaging and filing with just a few clicks, simplifying content recovery after errors occur.

Secure reminders have improved HR document control and support better client deadline management
I really love the reminders feature of N-able Cove Data Protection because I have many dates to keep in mind while working with multiple clients. The access settings are important for me too, and the fact that HR documents are personal means I do not want everyone seeing everything, especially because in HR we talk mostly about confidentiality. It is important that not everyone gets to see everything unless they have access, and I also appreciate being able to tell which copy is the final one. The reminders feature stands out for me the most because I deal with many dates and deadlines. The reminders work well for me in practice because they make it easy for me; I do not have to keep checking my calendar, even though I also use other calendars such as Calendly. The reminders come in handy because I do not have to keep going back to that, helping me ensure that I meet deadlines and do not miss client meetings, making it easier for me to stay organized.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's porting of targeted sources in CSV was a nice feature. The integration and connection between the tenants were smooth. We could access a template CSV as well."
"Almost all the features of CodeTwo are valuable for Microsoft 365."
"The solution offers ease of configuration. With a wizard, you run through the setup, and everything is configured correctly. Additionally, creating a job is very easy, and overall, the ease of access is excellent. Also, it allows you to use the backups to migrate to another Office 365 environment."
"The most valuable feature of CodeTwo Backup for Office 365 is its restore functionality."
"Cove Data Protection has streamlined how we handle data protection, as an MSP, saving me time with a single console to administer all client backups and dramatically improving the service levels I can offer customers while giving me confidence in reselling a trustworthy service and company."
"We've got twenty-seven different clients right now using Cove and our success rate on backups, taking out all the variables like computers being offline or crashing, is about a 95% to 99% success rate at all times."
"It's their cloud, it's their storage. I don't have to buy a space on Amazon or Google's cloud and then use their software to push it. That works well for me. This way, I don't have to worry about another option or the opportunity that there might be a credential leak."
"The most valuable feature by far is the Virtual Disaster Recovery. On top of that is the bare-metal recovery. The recovery options that we have are great. We have tested the Virtual Disaster Recovery and the bare-metal recovery in just about any scenario you can think of. We have even restored bare metal, a full server, to a laptop, and had full functionality. It's just insane how well it works and how simple it is. It does most of the work for you."
"What I like the most about it's the ease of use and the reliability that it has when copying information to the cloud."
"The product is simple to use and manage. The customers have access to verify the backups."
"With the monitoring it enables us to keep track, and it's more efficient, so it enables us to spend less time fixing backup issues for our customers."
"Of all the IT companies that we deal with as suppliers, I'm pretty sure they are the best that we have ever dealt with."

Cons

"I attempted to modify the XML files in the product's configuration to enhance the speed and efficiency of the process. While the KBs and documentation were well-written, technical aspects related to speed adjustment parameters were unclear."
"The customer service and support could be improved. When communicating via email, they sometimes take until late the same day to respond."
"There are two major improvements. First, the UI seems outdated. Second, the tool should support cloud backups. I suggest using Windows Server 2016 or 2019."
"There is room to improve in managing email signatures."
"The only reason I wouldn't give them a ten out of ten is we aren't able to restore in the cloud and test everything out as we can on Datto, without having to download the full image onto bare metal hardware."
"This solution is not very good for image restores, but really excellent for files, databases and System State restores."
"The one thing they don't are Linux servers, it's Windows only. I understand that directive. I have another product that I use for our Linux servers and stuff, but it would be nice if they had that flexibility on the Linux side. I understand the development and the world is geared towards Windows in 365, I know that's where the clienteles are and the business and the money is."
"N-able Cove Data Protection for Microsoft 365 is an area with shortcomings that need improvement."
"One area I don't like has to do with the agent that goes on the system. Deploying it is a piece of cake, but something I have noticed is that if a system stays offline for some length of time, say for a week or so, I may have to go back in and reinstall the agent to get it back in business."
"For small amounts of data, recovery is easy, but when it's large amounts of data, it takes forever. So, if they can have a service where they put our data on a hard drive and ship it to us as fast as possible, it would be great. Even if there's a fee associated with it, it's fine."
"The recovery side, the restore side, could be a little more optimized."
"N-able Cove Data Protection does not provide a lot of SaaS backup products, which is an area they can improve. Additionally, there are some limitations on the storage side, where I cannot have a lot of employees backing up their data."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's pricing was reasonable. I don't remember the amount per mailbox, but the cost seemed fair, considering we had around 300 mailboxes to migrate and needed to do it in a rush over a weekend. We didn't have many choices for people to operate the migration."
"N-able Cove Data Protection is an averagely-priced product."
"The only option I would like to see is an adjustable scale. Right now we have 250 seats and we're not using all of them. It would be nice to be able to save that little bit of money by being able to buy just what we need."
"Cove only takes the data you have on the physical server. I can back that up for long periods of time, and I don't accrue high charges to have the data in the cloud. It stays at one rate. This allows me to forecast payment for the next one or two years and show clients their estimated growth."
"The pricing, for now, is good. The package that they gave us recently is pretty good. It depends on how many clients you have, and you pay for certain terabytes per license. These terabytes, if not used, are pooled together."
"I believe that the price is very reasonable in comparison to other options. It is cheaper than both Redstor and Acronis and, since we are now using our own on-premise cloud, there is absolutely no comparison since we have unlimited storage rather than paying per gigabyte used for their onsite storage. We are currently able to backup fifty computers for the same price that we use to backup five computers."
"The pricing of SolarWinds seems to be fair compared to the rest of the industry."
"The price isn't extreme, but I'd love to pay less."
"There is no per node cost, at least not the way I am doing it. I am on bulk. New customers can be set up on a trial, where they can get things all squared away, then they can switch over to being a billed customer."
