Enables effective data management with reliable backup and recovery
Cohesity SmartFiles aids in data management with features like full-text search through indexed documents. The architecture supports backup, ransomware awareness, and data management on a converged platform, offering triple-protocol access (NFS, CIFS, and S3) while facilitating gradual improvements in access rights management. It allows for redundant setups, with automated backup and recovery options in a cloud environment.

AI projects have gained momentum as our team has built a strong pipeline for data‑intensive workloads
The best features Everpure FlashBlade offers, which stand out to both me and our customers, are its exceptional performance for AI and analytics workloads, its ability to scale seamlessly, its unified file and object storage architecture, and simplicity of management. Customers also value the fast backup and recovery capabilities, which are critical for cyber resiliency strategies. One of the challenges we face in Brazil is the price point. Everpure FlashBlade is a premium solution, and for many customers, the initial investment can be difficult to justify unless they have very demanding workloads such as AI, large-scale analytics, high performance, or cyber recovery. Because of this, our focus is on identifying customers where the business value and performance benefits clearly outweigh the cost. Since we have not yet deployed Everpure FlashBlade in production with a customer in Brazil with TDCX, I cannot speak from direct operational experience regarding its positive impact. However, Everpure FlashBlade has helped us engage in strategic conversations around AI, cyber resiliency, and modern data architectures. We have Everpure FlashBlade available in Brazil with TDCX for proof of concept activities, which allows customers to validate performance, scalability, and their real-world use cases before making an investment decision. This has been a significant asset in the presales and technology evangelization process and has helped customers understand the business value of Everpure FlashBlade. We have a proof of concept with a customer called M. Dias Branco in Lardas in Brazil. The project is in progress and we hope to close this sale this year.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cohesity SmartFiles aids in data management with features like full-text search through indexed documents."
"The ease of deployment and management has helped us simplify our storage. We also do not have to worry about capacity management as much. A lot of these things are native to Pure Storage."
"Approximately 40% to 50% of my time is saved using Pure Storage FlashBlade compared to different products."
"The number one aspect of FlashBlade is performance; the ability to move large amounts of data through a training array is pretty much unparalleled, and the scalability has been great."
"As a Pure Storage platform, the cost-benefit is hugely based on the deduplication and capacity."
"The snapshots, replication, and the ability to have immutable blades are the most valuable features. You're putting data snapshots out in those blades, and they cannot be touched. Its performance is great."
"Using this solution has made our backups more reliable."
"It is very easy to use, and it is very fast."
"It's very easy-to-use."

Cons

"Users must remember that running DataProtect and files on the same cluster could threaten access if there is a platform failure. It's not suitable for applications needing high I/O or low latency."
"I want efficiency. FlashBlade doesn't have efficiency now."
"There could be improvements in public cloud integration."
"We haven't been able to use much of the cloud area of Pure Storage. We have a storage server and it would be better if it could integrate with other cloud features of this solution."
"There is some room for new features related to authentication and integration with Kubernetes, and other solution using S3 Bucket."
"Recently, while upgrading the version code, one of the controllers failed. Replacing the controller took between 14 to 20 days."
"In terms of technical support, the experience has been mixed. The support is done through email and is not that great, making it a very problematic area I've been dealing with for over four years."
"I would not rate Everpure FlashBlade as a perfect score primarily due to the price point in the Brazilian market."
"I would like to see better integration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Support is a separate line item. Support is a different cost, but whatever your support is now, that's what you're going to pay forever. If your support's $100 today, six years from now it's $100. It doesn't fluctuate unless you upgrade it, or change it, etc."
"I feel that the price could always be lowered."
"Licensing fees are paid yearly."
"The pricing is relatively expensive due to the FlashBlade technology. However, for companies needing quick and reliable data access, the cost is justified."
"The price could be cheaper."
"Our customers have seen a reduction in TCO."
"The price is a little high."
"The product is very expensive."
