Consistent threat hunting and anomaly detection deliver valuable insights for network security management
In terms of improvement for Darktrace, pricing is the main concern. Pricing bothers me and this is one of the major factors when choosing a solution. When we get feedback from customers, that's the only felt need. When we factor in Darktrace, we do it only limited. We put it on where the perimeters and connections are, but still, some gray areas are left out, especially if we have multiple branches. We need Darktrace on each branch to get the data out, and I suggest having some kind of a centralized product that gets data from multiple sources to aggregate and provide the data.

Helped our organization by providing a comprehensive picture of our cyber posture in terms of threat intelligence
The most valuable feature is the capability to correlate all the vulnerabilities or threats detected from different sources. It does a very good job in correlating and identifying threat actors. Its integration with other products such as HCI, Firewall, and VDI solution for native control and detection also adds significant value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It provides a comprehensive, detailed view of network activity and whatever is happening inside it."
"The most valuable feature of Darktrace is the AI that detects abnormal network activity."
"I particularly like Antigena and the analytics around the real-time monitoring of our network. I also like its reporting because it has got a seven-day reporting period within the system. Every time you run the reports, it gives you the data about the previous seven days. I like that because it is in real-time. I enjoy reading those reports and getting a very clear and decisive idea of what's happening on my network on a real-time basis. I like the actual real-time monitoring of spoofing and things like that. I also like the user monitoring as well as the network logging capabilities."
"The product can scale."
"The most valuable feature has been the behavioral analytics that allows us to monitor all the traffic."
"It is autonomous. So, it learns. It uses algorithms and AI to learn the common behavioral patterns on the network, and it is able to identify threats based on abnormal patterns."
"AI analytics are built directly into the product."
"I am impressed with the product's ability to give insights into network traffic."
"The most valuable feature is the capability to correlate all the vulnerabilities or threats detected from different sources."
"Sangfor Cyber Command has helped our organization by providing a comprehensive picture of our cyber posture in terms of threat intelligence."
"The tool is a good product in the NDR market. Its valuable features are ease of management and breach of response features. It is an easy-to-learn solution."

Cons

"The pricing needs improvement."
"Darktrace could expand into EDR (endpoint detection and response) and combine it with its network detection."
"The management dashboards and the meter dashboards should be more user-friendly and simple to use for easy management."
"The price point for the product was too high for what our possible use case could be."
"I was under impression that Darktrace's automatic blocking would be an out-of-the-box feature, but we had to integrate it with our firewall to get it to block automatically. The salesperson should be upfront and explain that you need to integrate it with your network. I would also like to see more reporting on risk. Banks in my region want to see at a glance the risk level of various assets."
"The solution could be easier to use."
"The level of tracking within the network from the transmission level up to the machine level can use improvement."
"It would be useful if there was a way to check to see if there are certain devices that are not in sync with the solution. I'm not sure if this is an option or not."
"Technical support could be improved, and I rate them a seven. The support team has fewer cybersecurity resources capable of managing Cyber Command compared to other solutions."
"The solution could improve by incorporating email security."
"The product needs to improve its dashboard. Integration with existing systems has been challenging. When comparing it with Trend Micro, which offers an all-in-one NDR solution, the tool's integration process can be difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost is moderate."
"Darktrace is expensive. You can pay for the license yearly."
"It is expensive. I don't have the price for other competitors."
"The product is expensive."
"We had an issue with pricing initially and had to cancel some of the features of the projects to fit the budget. I would like to see pricing that is not broken up into parts so that we can buy the whole package once. Darktrace is more expensive than an average solution, but it's functionality won't match that of an average solution."
"Darktrace is pricey, but the price is reasonable for what the solution does, and it's comparable to other products."
"I'm unfamiliar with the exact cost, but we have a yearly license and had to pay for Darktrace's services before the deployment. The product is very expensive, so some organizations can't afford to pay the total amount directly, meaning they often seek a partner or pay in installments, which increases the price more."
"The pricing is a little high compared to the competition."
