Room For Improvement

Users want better cloud integration, support, pricing, efficiency, and improvements in analytics, configuration, and backup for FlashBlade.

Its configuration should be easier.
there should be improvements in how to get and filter logs
We hope Nutanix can integrate inside our current license module.
I would suggest that Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) should develop their own P2V (physical to VM) tools instead of requiring users to rely on third-party solutions.

The ability to leverage multi-tenancy along with immutability is a huge benefit for us
The only thing I feel FlashBlade is missing is the SOS API. If it had SOS API, that would put it well over the top. Veeam Backup specifically has started to streamline their API, and they are doing that with SOS API. They have optimized it. Any of the S3 devices out there that support this SOS API can have far more API calls at once. On our side, that translates to better restoration. With SOS API, it can leverage far more restorations at a single given time or read from the device in simple terms. That results in maximizing the output and throughput from the device itself.

Robust with good replication and access protection
The solution is constantly evolving. Recently, deduplication and compression have been further improved to meet customer needs, and updates are easily implemented without stopping production. The update assistant checks the state of health before using good practices, during checks that the data is still presented for service continuity, and afterward, if the actions carried out are indeed active. Technical support is truly available even without a production incident. This is really essential right now.

Offers a unified platform, reduces downtime, and simple updates
Nutanix offers a unified platform for managing databases, virtual machines, and applications. This simplifies management by consolidating everything into a single interface. While Nutanix may have a higher upfront cost compared to other hypervisors, it can significantly reduce the resources needed for infrastructure management. With our previous hypervisor, we needed nearly ten IT personnel. Nutanix has allowed us to streamline our team to just three members. We use a combination of database technologies, including SQL databases and web servers such as IIS, BHP, and NGINX. Nutanix features helped our organization reduce downtime. I don't recall the last time we had downtime related to Nutanix because it is such a stable product. Nutanix, a reliable product, helps us streamline our processes, which in turn improves company revenue. We began to see the benefits after two years, with a 40 percent reduction in operational costs. We migrated 200 servers from AWS to Nutanix. Nutanix may not consolidate applications, but it helps us run them more efficiently on its platform. Updating is simple with one click. I would rate the updating processes 10 out of 10. Adding compute and storage on demand is not difficult. However, we need to factor in the existing and new firmware and software requirements.

Nutanix vs. VMware EVO:RAIL vs. FlexPod
Originally posted at www.storagegaga.com/dont-get-too-drunk-on-hyper-converged/ I hate the fact that I am bursting the big bubble brewing about Hyper Convergence (HC). I urge all to look past the hot air and hype frenzy that are going on, because in the end, the HC platforms have to be aligned…

I think Nutanix is suitable for medium companies because it is an appliance with standardization, compatibility between equipment; but for the same reason, it is bad for scalability if you try to scale your environment with other appliances from other vendors. Whereas DataCore needs more professionality and experience.

Donot Go with Nutanix . Comes with a lot of investment and secondly a lot of things is hyped and they are really seeing a lot of performance issues. Most of their features comes under their own hypervisor AHV and you would still require a Vcenter as you cant manage your entire datacenter with Prism alone

In a two product comparison, three elements are required. A list of pros and cons for each product and the weighting criteria you will use to score the competitors. As a bowler, I love my golf score. For Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, I focus on mid-size (>500 employees, >$200M) companies and enterprises. Both products let you build your own Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. I give DataCore high marks for its SAN and storage focus but I see Nutanix as a stronger vehicle for mid-size organizations looking at hybrid-cloud and higher levels of feature sophistication. While striving for neutrality - I favor Nutanix for my customers. The incremental costs are manageable and this group is less interested in building than buying services. For many smaller customers - especially ones who will go the extra mile to save a buck and see options like Scale I/O from EMC or VMWare's VSAN as too expensive, I expect DataCore Virtual San to find a good home. As the HCI standard bearer the application support question is very clear for Nutanix, both from the SW vendor and Nutanix. The DataCore support path is fuzzier. DataCore is of interest to customers seeking to re-purpose a brownfield array of older servers for an application they are very familiar with. Most larger IT shops have no time to build something out and will pay for reliability and reduced risk given the mass of users they support.
