Advanced analytics have strengthened privileged access security and reduced incident response time
While One Identity Defender is a strong solution overall, there are a few areas where I feel it could be improved. One area is the user interface and dashboard customization. Although it is functional, making it more modern and allowing deeper customization would improve the user experience, especially for quick monitoring. Another improvement could be in reporting flexibility. While it provides good reports, having more custom report building options and easier export features would be helpful for different compliance and manageability needs. From an integration perspective, while One Identity Defender works well with core systems, having more out-of-the-box integrations with modern cloud services and SaaS platforms would reduce the need for custom configuration. In terms of support, the overall support is good, but faster response times for critical issues and more detailed troubleshooting documentation would help teams resolve problems more efficiently.

Secure remote access has protected our intranet and supports straightforward integration
We use Fortinet and their products. I understand your points about Fortinet FortiToken. It is easy to integrate Fortinet FortiToken with solutions such as FortiGate, FortiAuthenticator, or FortiCloud. The integration is relatively straightforward and easy. Fortinet FortiToken is easier to use than Fortinet FortiToken as a separate piece of equipment or separate tool. The Fortinet FortiToken mobile application makes it easier to receive tokens on my smartphone. We tested the VPN option and another one combined with FortiClient, the antivirus, and web filtering, which are the most useful features in Fortinet FortiToken. Fortinet has another product that is more complete, but I think the price is not compatible for small businesses such as ours. I can recommend Fortinet FortiToken to other users, and I am totally satisfied with it. My company is a reseller of Fortinet, and my clients purchase the product directly from me rather than through the AWS Marketplace or other platforms. I mainly work within the Fortinet environment, and for this environment, Fortinet FortiToken would be the best choice. Overall, I would rate this product an eight.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We find that the product scales very well."
"We have definitely seen a positive ROI from using One Identity Defender, as our security team now spends about twenty to thirty percent less time on manual log analytics and investigations because the system automatically highlights high-risk activities, and we did not need to increase team size despite growing infrastructure as the tool helps us handle more security events with the same team."
"It's very fast, and it's easy to use because it's integrated with Active Directory."
"If you decide to activate this solution, your infrastructure will be centered around flexibility."
"One Identity Defender has positively impacted our organization by improving overall security through the addition of MFA, which reduces the risk of unauthorized access and makes user authentication more controlled and reliable."
"One Identity Defender has good network protection."
"Fortinet offers a comprehensive solution for network security, particularly with its very effective zero-trust network access approach."
"FortiToken is available in a soft or hard token factor, so there's some flexibility in that. Beyond that, I would say it is a stable solution that has worked for us."
"The integrated Fortinet security with the app that allows you to easily do the two-factor authentication is most valuable."
"If you're looking for a fast installation, easy deployment, and not much maintenance, this is the solution to go for, but the only thing is that it is good for Fortinet."
"I love the push-button authentication on FortiToken Mobile. It's also great that the soft token automatically reloads the OTP at intervals, so I always have a fresh code to enter."
"Fortinet FortiToken has impacted my organization positively by providing enhanced security through an additional security layer."
"FortiToken is integrated with FortiClient solution for users working from home, providing an additional layer of security by sending OTPs for authentication."
"Overall, I rate the FortiToken solution as nine out of ten. I would definitely recommend it due to its effectiveness in enhancing security."

Cons

"We have some clients that are wanting to protect their Apache web servers with One Identity Defender but all the research I have done says cannot be done. It can only be oriented to an IIS server. One Identity Defender should have more integration with more types of web servers."
"Maybe it could provide support for more web applications. It seems more focused on IIS web applications."
"The only reason it is not a ten is because response time can sometimes be slower for complex or escalated cases."
"One Identity Defender is a strong product, but there are a few areas where it can be improved."
"The login capabilities could be better."
"I would like to see if FortiToken can integrate with Office 365 mail to support the same two-factor authentication experience that I have with ESET. With ESET, when a user logs in, they are easily directed to the ESET authentication page, where they are prompted to enter their OTP after supplying their username and password. I understand from support that FortiToken cannot do this with email integration. That's why I opted for ESET."
"I would like to see the product improvements in dynamic VLAN pooling. Specifically, when users are assigned different VLANs based on their SSID, ensuring no unintended lateral traffic between users would enhance security and efficiency."
"I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten. The migration issue definitely brings it down a bit."
"Fortinet FortiToken could be improved with flexibility to move it from device to device."
"Support is a pain point in Bangladesh because there aren't many experienced Fortinet engineers in this country. It's easier to find one certified in Cisco, Palo Alto, or Juniper."
"The tool could be a little cheaper."
"However, when it comes to the number of users, it is very scalable in terms of being able to cater to a small environment of five users versus 100,000, but in my opinion, when you have to migrate as your environment grows, it's not very scalable."
"Fortinet FortiToken should improve its push notifications."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Overall, it's cheaper than other solutions. Of course, we evaluated it five years back, and I haven't checked to see its current market position, but one reason we adopted FortiToken is its lower cost of ownership relative to other solutions we evaluated."
"The solution’s pricing is moderate and reasonable."
"The solution’s price is good."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is the cheapest, and ten is the highest, I rate the pricing an eight."
"I rate the tool's pricing a five out of ten."
"The pricing is not very high, so I'd rate it around six out of ten, where one is high and ten is low."
"I would rate the pricing as an eight out of ten. We purchased the solution at a reasonable price in 2019."
"The platform's licensing cost is reasonable for our organization."
