Helps to save money and resources with the data compression feature
One point I'd like to improve is that the tool should start selling small boxes again. It discontinued some products and is focusing on bigger, more capable boxes, neglecting the SMB market. Even though it's not a big market, it shouldn't have removed them. One way to improve the product is to add an operational assistant that doesn't depend on VMware. It could also establish more alliances with other operational systems.

Superior platform with excellent snapshots and cost-saving auto-tiering
I'm a big fan of the SC Series platform. Its feature set is superior to some of the other platforms. The snapshots on SC are excellent, allowing for multiple snapshot schedules for any one system. The auto-tiering functionality intelligently moves new data to the highest performance tier and then progresses it down to less expensive tiers over time, providing cost savings for customers.
ER
It has the ability to do snapshots to any second in the last 24 hours.
There are several features which have really set Reduxio apart in my mind as we went to renew our SAN storage and chose Reduxio: 1) The pre-processing dedupe engine they have instead of post-processing. At the time of writing there are not a lot of vendors which have an excellent tiering engine which writes to RAM, then SSD, then HDD, but also flag each block of data on the way in and only write unique data down to the hard drives. I currently have 2.7:1 and 2.5:1 dedupe savings ratios on my two SANs. Yes, I got a second one because I liked the first one so much. Notice from the screenshot below how 19 TB of data were written to the RAM tier but only 6 TB of unique data needed to be written to SSD. Same thing with reads, 37 TB of data was read from the system but only 7 TB needed to be fetched from SSD and HDD. Impressive! There is 256GB of RAM doing this cache, my old SAN had less than 1GB cache, 475MB to be exact. 2) The ability to do snapshots to any second in the last 24 hours, any hour for the last 3 days, any day in the last week, and any week in the last 3 months. This setting can be changed to suit your business requirements. Living in the era of Ransomware attacks breaking out every month I want to know I can use my Reduxio time machine to go back to the hour or second before the attack hit. 3) HTML5 management interface. I was tired of fussing with java versions and breaking my management. So far HTML5 has been beautiful and just works on all my devices and browsers. Seriously take a look at the HTML5 management interface here and see if you are not impressed.

"Easy management of volumes: You can create volumes and easily assign them to VMware clusters, increasing their size."
"Performance-wise it's high speed. It's also more stable and scalable."
"I find this version to be more budget-friendly compared to products from other vendors. This aspect greatly benefits my customers. It's highly advantageous due to its affordability. The operational aspect is also noteworthy. Additionally, its availability and performance are commendable. The speaker are also equally powerful."
"I think that Dell EMC is one of the best technical support services in Ukraine."
"I've found the stability to be very good."
"The flexibility of this solution has been valuable for our business."
"Its feature set is superior to some of the other platforms."
"Improves the response of the VMs by having the most used portions on the flashcache."
"It has improved our backup and recovery window, because you can have two Reduxio machines linked up, so every block that changes on the primary storage array gets replicated to the secondary storage array. If one side or the other goes bad, you just recover from the other side."
"Enables multiple hosts access to the virtual machines by providing for moving VMs due to maintenance or host failure."
"The ability to target existing remote storage with NoRestore is going to allow us to leverage existing storage without an increased financial investment."
"The unit has been running at 100% without an issue."
"I have an every second undo button for all my applications. I call Reduxio "the ransomware killer"."
"The HTML5 UI is clean, easy to navigate, and very intuitive."
"By using the BackDating option we can restore volumes based on time. It also reduces volumes and maintenance time."

Cons

"Maybe the price can be reduced since the solution is very expensive."
"It feels more suitable for small and medium-sized businesses rather than enterprises."
"The tool's pricing is higher than competitors."
"There is room for improvement in catering to midrange storage needs, especially for customers seeking Enterprise-class features."
"Many options to check performance, like read, writes, random writes, and random reads, are missing in Pure FlashArray X NVMe."
"I would like to see some AI features that would allow arrays to intelligently identify threats or unusual behavior in the data pattern and give an alert."
"We would like to see VNC integration or be able to use Pure Storage with VNC."
"Efficiency improvements would always be welcome, but I'm not sure if they could get more efficient."
"It's not very efficient anymore. There are better products out there."
"If Dell SC Series wasn't being phased out, adding an NVMe tier and secure snapshots like those on the PowerStore platform would be beneficial."
"The tool's pricing is high and not suitable for medium companies."
"Dell SC Series is no longer available, while Dell PowerStore, which supports NVMe over TCP, is different and not very affordable."
"It would be helpful if the solution offered higher performance, at least on the back end."
"In the future, I want any box that comes on-premises to have the provision to integrate with cloud storage."
"The connection should be better integrated with the network to offer a better view of the system."
"In the future, I want any box that comes on-premises to have the provision to integrate with cloud storage."
"Scalability is a little unusual. We came from the NetApp world where, if you needed more disk space, you just added more drives into the chassis, whereas with Reduxio, if you need more disk space, you have to buy a new chassis."
"I would love an iPhone app to monitor my system from outside the firewall."
"A centralized management would be nice, the ability to manage all cluster in one management portal."
"I would love to see deeper integration with VMware vSphere/vCenter. Right now, I can edit existing Reduxio datastore sizes in the vSphere web client. Provisioning new datastores that way would be nice."
"Needs to be made easier to use with slightly older versions of VMware."
"Maybe it should come in stainless steel, just like its DeLorean time machine predecessor."
"The only thing that I'd like to see, at some point in time, is having the storage array being able to detect a ransomware attack. When you get hit by a ransomware it rewrites every block in your guest's virtual machine. So there should be a way for them to be able to detect that: "Hey, this is unusual, to see every block of this guest being rewritten all at one time," and then flag that as potential malware or ransomware."
"It would be nice feature if the GUI had an option to export the current unit configuration to a file or an email recipient. In case of a disaster, this way it would be quicker to get a replacement unit up and running again."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing is on a yearly basis."
"As far as the licensing costs, everything is included in the license."
"The tool's pricing is cheap; I rate it a six to seven out of ten. Most of our sales are not subscription-based. We sell the hardware, and customers keep using it. They only renew the service part annually. The support can be a bit pricey, but the solution is more cost-effective than anything else out there."
"The support cost per array is about $20,000 a year for 24/7 support."
"Pure FlashArray X NVMe’s pricing is cheaper than other products."
"Its price could be better. It is not too expensive, but it is the high-end cost. It is kind of a Rolls-Royce. You pay a lot, but you get a lot out of it. So, the price pressure on the way down would be great, but at the end of the day, if you need to do the work, you just pay for it."
"The product is expensive."
"They can tout the functionality and cutting edge technology that they have, but that's where the price tag comes in. The cost is high, but I think as they grow their business and get more customers that it will probably go down a little bit."
"Support typically depends on the array. It can range anywhere from $7,000 to a couple of hundred thousand dollars."
"The pricing of this solution is competitive."
"It's a very affordable solution."
"Always keep in mind, this is not just a enclosure with disks is a complete SAN as a service. There is software, license, and storage in one single solution."
"The SC Series was priced fairly. I wouldn't call it either expensive or cheap because we had a very tight budget, so if they were able to fit in that type of budget, they met our expectations."
"The maintenance is usually pretty good. It's not like some of the others where they increase it in the fourth, fifth, or sixth years."
"It is one of the most cost effective systems for us. We have been able to run it longer than most, getting the most benefit and money out of it."
"The scalability seems a bit more expensive than even buying a brand new one so far. That has been kind of a drawback."
"The licensing is very simple with Reduxio. It is actually one of the attractions, unlike some of the other products. The other product we're using, in some of its incarnations, has extremely complex pricing, with every spindle having an associated license and fees. With Reduxio it's very simple. For the box - the hardware comes in essentially one configuration for the chassis, the unit (and you can buy multiple units and daisy-chain them) - there is no "a-la-carte," so many drives of this kind or that kind, etc. It has a basic hardware configuration. Then, through the software license, they allocate or assign you the right to use the full capacity, or half of it, or a quarter of it. Of course, if you're not using the full capacity but need to, it is a simple phone call to upgrade. It's as simple as it gets."
"The compression and dedupe are very effective on Reduxio, so it may be worth asking about licensing partial capacity on a unit, if the full capacity seems overkill for your environment."
"You want the best, you've got to pay for the best, that's all. In terms of licensing, just work with your VAR. The features, overall, were just too good to pass up, even though it comes at a premium."
"Setup and licensing are included in the solution cost."
"ROI is how much (time, money, resources) you will save in case of a ransomware attack because you had this box."
"Reduxio’s licensing model is quite attractive. All licenses are included in the product pricing."
"I think that you are able to buy a minimum capacity, then grow your capacity within the box as you expand your data needs."
"The advantage of using HDDs to store (versus pure flash) makes the price point attractive versus other options."
