Deltek CostPoint vs SAP S/4HANA: which one is better and why?

Hi @Hovik Hacobian, Can I ask how you reach these systems? The ERP selection for an organization (or industry) needs methodology and experience. SAP is a Tier1 ERP but Deltek is not. So I think your roadmap is wrong from the starting point. But in general, some important parameters in selecting a system are YOUR: - Organization size (eg. 10,000 employees and users, or 10M$ USD Revenue Per Year), - Organization process (eg. full purchasing process without HR Process), - Organization industry (eg. project-oriented (E, EPC, ...), Manufacturer, Sales), - Organization needs and priorities (eg. good UI/UX over best functionality), - Organization maturity (eg. best practice process over "as-is" process). Finally, I think, first, you must clarify your needs and answer the top questions. After that, select the best choices. Both systems are great, but just for a best-fit organization. Best Regards

Good solution for finance in general but falls short on the manufacturing side

There is room for improvement when it comes to reporting and the manufacturing piece in general. I would like to see more of a complete solution with the operations end of the business, namely the quality management system and the production pieces. It's very good at project costing, cost accounting, accounting and finance in general. Where it falls short is the manufacturing side. Overall, the solution is very difficult to use and learn. The learning curve is difficult. Also, the GUI and user interface are not intuitive.

Areas of SAP S_4HANA that could be improved or enhanced include the evolving aspects of the application over time. There are other SAP applications such as SuccessFactors and Ariba that integrate with SAP S_4HANA. In recent years, SAP introduced an addition called RISE with SAP, which allows companies to use cloud solutions instead of requiring their own premises hardware. SAP partners with cloud providers such as Azure, Amazon, and Google, assisting companies in migrating from hardware to cloud solutions. A challenge that arises is the lack of immediate expertise when raising tickets for problem resolution with SAP, leading to delays. We have asked SAP to improve this area to provide users with better benefits from the cloud solution, as we encounter this issue frequently.

From what I've seen, the features of the procure-to-pay model in S/4HANA and their Contract Life Cycle Management side primarily focus on the procurement side. I believe it would be good if this solution could handle a part of the legal side. They will incorporate Extended Warehouse Management and Transportation Management into the S/4HANA cloud. Most big companies that use a solution like S/4HANA have a legal department within the organization. Suppose they can incorporate that to be in S/4HANA suites; I think it'll be good. It will be just like what we have with Transportation Management and Extended Warehouse Management. The user interface could be better. They have too much information on the interface, and our customers still keep complaining that it looks complex. Even though many things have changed, they still complain that the interface or the screen they see is a bit complex. It's only when they see the Fiori interface that their mind becomes a bit calm."
