What is your primary use case for SAP S4HANA?

My main use case for SAP S_4HANA is finance and billing. I use SAP S_4HANA for finance and billing through different modules, such as FICO and BRIM. Different modules are utilized for various purposes. For example, FICA is a sub-ledger and FICO is the core finance where all GL accounts and financial postings are summarized, GL reconciliation is performed, and financial close procedures are completed.

My experience with SAP S_4HANA involves working on several projects helping customers prepare their transition from ECC to SAP S_4HANA. My role was to study the gap and technical feasibility by executing readiness checks and generating reports, helping functional teams analyze the effort during the upgrade or conversion in a brownfield approach. Another project involved analyzing and comparing the benefits between a greenfield approach and migrating to SAP S_4HANA. My role is primarily technical, helping to design solutions for infrastructure and assisting customers in achieving high availability to maintain business continuity.

My use case for SAP S/4HANA is mainly for our maintenance module or resource planning ERP. We want to use the capability of the new system to look at some of the new dashboarding and analytics that are provided in this new system. The old one was more tedious to get all this information. The data is always there, but running the report through the BW warehouse and everything took quite a while, and you need to custom integrate them. This is easily done with the SAP S/4HANA system.

I use SAP S/4HANA because most of the manufacturers in pharmaceuticals are using it. We migrated from Microsoft Dynamics to SAP S/4HANA. My relationship is with solutions in retail as we are customers.

I am an enterprise architect, and while I'm not so much the end user, I have experience with SAP tools, SAC, and other sub-modules. My experience with SAP comes from my early job in consulting, but now I'm working as an enterprise tech. I don't have deep dive experience with the existing tools in my new company, but I follow the technologies on the SAP side. I have been working with SAP S/4HANA for five years. I'm working as a consultant and module consultant in the finance side, focusing on finance and controlling. In my existing company, we are users. We are a customer of SAP, and we use SAP S/4HANA as our main ERP system. However, I don't provide any support or any technical details about SAP; I only work as an enterprise architect to design the IT landscape.

There are some main use cases for SAP S/4HANA because mainly we work with manufacturing customers. I have mostly manufacturing customers.

It is a great product to be implemented for different industries for my customers. Can it be used globally?

We work in a very niche area within the livestock industry. We have a SAP-certified solution for the poultry industry, and as part of our livestock solution, we cover poultry, dairy, and fishery. We more or less exclusively work in these industries.

I am one of the implementing partners for SAP, specifically for HANA. I have worked on quite a few projects where I executed transformations with my clients, and I have found that the transformation has occurred. There is value that has been realized.

I work in the stack, and I'm on the technical side. My customers span about 20 different industries, including public sector federal government, manufacturing, service vehicles, agriculture, and mining. I don't really have a specific area. In terms of the use case of the product, HCC is now legacy, and S/4HANA is the future product for those customers running ECC, whether they want to run it on-premises, in the cloud, or in the public cloud. There are obviously a few differences there. I don't get involved in the sales side since I'm on the technical side.

We are mainly implementing it for finance, sales, and purchasing.

I use this solution because it provides immediate insights into financial affairs without waiting for month-end reports.

We have several different application scenarios that we are implementing, including procurement, sales, and finance.

I'm an architect. S/4HANA is an intelligent enterprise. When an organization needs an application or software to run its operations, S/4HANA comes into play. SAP is the market leader in ERP. S/4HANA is not a traditional ERP anymore, but an intelligent enterprise. That's the power of S/4HANA.

I use the solution in my company to pay for procurement, finance, and asset management, and we use all its modules across the board for everything.

My company's clients use the solution as an ERP tool.

It has supported our client's digital transformation initiatives. There are two versions of S/4HANA: on-premise and on-cloud. We haven't seen many client use cases for the cloud version yet, mostly pilots and proof of concepts (POCs) on Azure. We sometimes convince clients to go for the cloud version for analytics purposes. However, 80-90% of the time, clients use the on-premise version. Clients run their entire enterprise on it, requiring customizations, which we help them with.

SAP also has solutions for CRM and customer solutions and multiple other products for every line of business. SAP has ideal tools for retail, hospitality management, agriculture, and Oil & Gas businesses. Depending on customer requirements and their line of business, our company provides suitable SAP services. Based on certain prerequisites like company turnover and yearly revenue, SAP products or system licenses can be adopted. Based on the user licenses procured, whether on-prem or cloud, the solution can be managed by the vendor. SAP products are also adopted by all lines of businesses, including automotive and manufacturing. Our company not only implements SAP S/4HANA but also manages the migration from older versions to the latest SAP S/4HANA. For any dedicated projects with SAP S/4HANA, there are some taxation-based processes and procurement processes to develop or customize the solution.

We've integrated SAP S/4HANA into our implementation projects for customers, not internally. We use SAP S/4HANA for real-time analytics and decision-making.

SAP S/4HANA is the predominant solution from SAP, replacing the earlier SAP ECC. It's widely used for overall enterprise resource planning, including running banking operations and other enterprise functions.

We use the solution as an ERP system for our retail operations and manufacturing.

SAP S/4HANA is primarily employed for data analysis and analytics. It involves engaging with data within the platform to perform analytics and generate insights, focusing on optimizing data collection and analysis at the database level.

Many companies are currently going for SAP S/4HANA because the maintenance for their SAP ERP or SAP ECC will be over the next year. Even their extended maintenance will be over by 2028. Some companies have gone for mergers and acquisitions and want common processes across their entities. Hence, they chose a good ERP system like SAP S/4HANA.

We use the solution to import master data. We use classic resolution to collect local US company material masters and align HQ material masters' numbers. We import FI/CO/MM/PP/SD IMG and opening posting accounts and stock. We use it to import transactional data. We collect purchase orders and sales orders into S4H We also use it to import security. We collect user roles and permission objects. We provide training requirements for logistic modules for sales orders to intercompany purchase orders and make production orders for goods issued and goods received. Finally, we run production order confirmations for cost variants.

Most of our customers have their applications hosted on SAP. Therefore, they have stored the data on SAP S/4HANA database.

Many look for companies and partners who can help them implement SAP S/4HANA. So, we help in the implementation phase. We provide ongoing support as well.

I work for a consulting company. Globally, we have clients in oil and gas, construction, and other industries. We have about 26 people using this solution.

Our company implements the solution for customers in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. We manage transformational projects that include selection, upgrade, or replacement of systems that require ERP solutions. Our biggest implementation was for a chemical company's software hub that was custom-built on an AS/400 mainframe and they wanted to move to an ERP system. After a six-month package selection process, we chose the solution combined with extensions provided by an implementation partner that added specific functionality and narrowed down customizations. Across all of our projects, there are 5,000 users of the solution.

This product is the ERP. I'm on the procurement side. Therefore, I leverage it for purchase orders and finance and have all the processes together.
