Good core scanning, a helpful GDPR assessment template and very good technical support
The core scanning, the scanning process, has got a very nice pass management module. It's fantastic. The last time we did it, the customer was trying to make the SAP system match the GDPR process. We were able to use it for that benchmark. It was very important. The GDPR assessment template that is being used in the process application benchmark and analyzing landscape came in very handy. It was very useful because it also gave notifications.

Gains control over rule customization and achieves reliable vulnerability assessment
The deployment process took me about 2 or 3 hours to deploy SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube), although I do not remember exactly since it was done about 2 years back. Currently, about 10 of my developers are using SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) in my company. I do not have plans to increase the usage of SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) in the future as there will not be any requirement to increase. I am a senior software engineer and supervisor at Mozark Medical. My corporate email address is karthik.k.a.r.t.h.i.k.h.a.r.p.a.n.h.a.l.l.i@mozarkmedical.com. Overall, I would rate SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) as a 9 out of 10.

Pros

"The core scanning, the scanning process, has got a very nice pass management module, and the GDPR assessment template that is being used in the process application benchmark and analyzing landscape came in very handy and was very useful because it also gave notifications."
"The core scanning, the scanning process, has got a very nice pass management module. It's fantastic."
"Some of the static code analysis capabilities are the most beneficial."
"We usually do the development in Java, and when we finish the development, we usually run the SonarQube tests and review the critical level, bugs, and security issues."
"I am only interested in the security features in SonarQube. There are plenty of features other features, such as test coverage, code anomalies, and pointer access are handled by the business logic teams. They get the reports and they have to fix them in JIRA or Bugzilla."
"We've configured it to run on each commit, providing feedback on our software quality. ]"
"The most valuable feature of SonarQube I have found to be the configuration that has allowed us to make adjustments to the demands of the code review, giving a specified classification regarding the skill and prioritization, and it is easy for me to review and improve my code."
"I like that it has a better dashboard compared to Clockwork. It's also stable."
"It helps our developers work more efficiently as we can identify things in a code prior to it being pushed to where it needs to go."
"It is working fine. It provides a good value for money."

Cons

"The solution is generally good, but it's not seamless."
"The anomaly detection could be improved."
"The documentation is not clear and it needs to be updated."
"Dynamic scanning is missing and there are some issues with security scanning."
"SonarQube needs to improve its support model. They do not work 24/7, and they do not provide weekend support in case things go wrong."
"It would be helpful if notifications could go out to an extra person."
"The learning curve can be fairly steep at first, but then, it's not an entry-level type of application. It's not like an introduction to C programming. You should know not just C programming and how to make projects but also how to apply its findings to the bigger picture. I've had users who said that they wish it was easier to understand how to configure, but I don't know if that's doable because what it's doing is a very complicated thing. I don't know if it is possible to make a complicated thing trivially simple."
"I have found this solution creates more noise than competitors."
"We're in the process of figuring out how to automate the workflow for QA audit controls on it. I think that's perhaps an area that we could use some buffing."
"The tool needs to be more compatible with C/C++ language"

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I use the full trial version of SonarQube."
"The beauty of this solution is the free open-source version is capable enough in doing pretty much what an enterprise-level version can do."
"The current pricing is quite cheap."
"I think comparing the product to competitors it should be less expensive."
"The developer edition is based on cost per lines of code."
"SonarQube is a fairly affordable solution for a larger scale if you have a specific role or specific department for secure code."
"Previously, the pricing was 17,000 euros for five million lines analyzed. However, they now charge $15,000 per one million lines, significantly increasing the cost."
"I do not know about the pricing as I am using the community edition, which is free. But I compared the pricing with Sigma, and it is higher than SonarQube."
