Continuous attack surface monitoring has improved risk visibility and protected our brand
Fortinet FortiRecon will benefit from stronger bi-directional integration with other tools such as SIEM and XDR from companies like Cisco, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto Networks. Fortinet FortiRecon needs improvement with integration with vulnerability management platforms, for example, Tenable, Qualys, SIEM, SOAR systems, and endpoint detection platforms. While it provides strong external visibility, tighter orchestration and automated remediation workflows can enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual coordination between teams. Improved reporting customization and risk scoring transparency would also benefit executive-level reporting and prioritization. External attack surface monitoring is no longer optional in a modern enterprise, and it is essential from my professional perspective. When integrated into governance, vulnerability management, and SOC workflows, Fortinet FortiRecon enables proactive risk reduction by identifying exposed assets, brand abuse, and leaked credentials. However, Fortinet FortiRecon could improve in terms of deeper integration, automation, and correlation with internal security controls and vulnerability management platforms.

Efficiently identify and address online threats with timely alerts and thorough takedown capabilities
The most valuable features are its threat intel platform, which provides the latest trends and indicators of compromise (IOCs) that I can act on. I quickly obtain data, such as leaked email IDs and passwords, from the ZeroFOX portal or the threat intel portal when required. The platform's GUI-based features stand out and provide thorough takedown capabilities for domains, social media accounts, and phishing numbers.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Fortinet FortiRecon's best feature is external attack surface monitoring, which is no longer optional in a modern enterprise."
"Brand protection is very useful for identifying password leakage, duplicate applications, proxy applications in the name of our company, and protecting forged websites, phishing URLs, and duplicate URLs, among many more."
"The access to information and the overall integration of many tools in one platform make Fortinet FortiRecon a comprehensive tool for overall cybersecurity improvements in our IT equipment."
"I rate ZeroFOX a ten overall."
"The best thing about the tool is that its backend team is pretty good and has a strong engineering team."
"ZeroFOX has no language limitations. It can detect many languages."

Cons

"Fortinet FortiRecon will benefit from stronger bi-directional integration with other tools such as SIEM and XDR from companies like Cisco, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto Networks."
"Engaging the support team with Fortinet FortiRecon takes more time than expected."
"ZeroFOX needs improvement in handling duplicate alerts. If an alert on a domain, such as abcd.com, has not been addressed or is still in progress, similar new alerts are not combined into a single incident."
"ZeroFOX is not configured to grab the information automatically, including the news."
"Social media takedowns are a major issue. The takedowns should not take more than two to three hours."
