Simplifies the management of complex data networks, but its technical support could be improved
Sometimes, we have to use SD-WAN support for the solution, which can be improved by adapting some features that will help our approach to network services. The solution can adapt some of the tools where we, as network engineers, can adjust to the changing application needs. Also, the solution can provide us with multiple support, allowing us to create a network segment. The solution’s technical support could be improved.

Secure branch connectivity and automation have improved, but clustering and support still need work
I think Juniper SRX Series Firewall could be improved or enhanced because maybe a year or two ago, Juniper began producing new boxes such as SRX 1600, SRX 2300, and SRX 4300 and 4700, which are excellent products. They are only one unit high but have very good performance and a lot of different ports, supporting from 1 gig to 100 gig ports. Juniper also has series SRX 300, but it is an old firewall and not very powerful. I believe that maybe in a year, they will transition to another series, such as SRX 400. However, the functionality of Juniper SRX Series Firewall remains the same. The differences involve performance, quality, number of ports, and types of ports in different models of Juniper SRX Series Firewall.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a stable solution."
"The most valuable feature of the GajShield Next Generation Firewall is the user-friendly settings, dashboards, and anti-threat protection. Additionally, the solution upgrades frequently which is good because we receive new features."
"The solution's outcome is very high, and we often use it in a very high-traffic environment."
"It is an easily scalable solution...The initial setup was very easy."
"If people are looking for a good solution that is priced well this solution is best."
"GajShield has improved our mobile device-based connectivity."
"GajShield Next Generation Firewall's best feature is the network DLP."
"Gajshiled's enterprise cloud and DLP-level features give it an advantage over other products."
"The CLI works perfectly."
"Technical support is perfect."
"The user interface is good."
"It integrates well with Fortinet and Palo Alto."
"We use the Juniper SRX as a perimeter firewall, data center firewall, and VPN concentrators to protect the data behind our switches, and it has a high security implementation with good stability, scalability, and high availability."
"We did not have problems with scaling, as we have less than 500 users in our organization."
"When compared to Palo Alto, Juniper is a better choice when it comes to the enterprise network and connectivity."
"Overall, we've been happy with the solution and I would rate it a nine out of ten."

Cons

"We face issues with some configuration parts that we don't understand in the solution, and sometimes we face issues with the VPN connection."
"The UI for the administration of the firewall needs a lot of work."
"We raised a support ticket, and the project didn't get a proper response. There was a skill issue in TAC support."
"GajShield Next Generation Firewall would be improved with the addition of a load-balancing feature."
"GajShield Next Generation Firewall could improve the flow of the settings. If somebody's using a Cisco firewall or any other brand and they want to use GajShield Next Generation Firewall the platform's UI is a bit different. If it was more similar to the others it would be better."
"Gajshield can improve SD-WAN compatibility at an enterprise cloud level."
"Sometimes, we have to use SD-WAN support for the solution, which can be improved by adapting some features that will help our approach to network services."
"The firewall configuration and administration screens could use some improvement."
"The big thing is performance. With all the features turned on it slows down."
"Junos Space should be improved to be on par with FortiGate's solution for managing firewalls and routing."
"We'd like to improve the stability and the kill rate."
"The range of devices should be expanded to include those suitable for a small implementation. Juniper does not have any lower-priced SRX models, useful perhaps for a single ATM or a single bank branch."
"I think improvement can be done to the security part, particularly the UDM, and the product should have a user-friendly interface similar to FortiGate. It should have the Azure RBAC in the next release."
"There are a lot of features that customers do not know about and I think that better documentation would help when it comes to learning how to use the product."
"Third-party support for Juniper is a lot less than Cisco."
"If a user needs a more sophisticated next generation firewall feature or threat intelligence themes, I'm not sure they'll get that with SRX devices."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the GajShield Next Generation Firewall is very attractive when compared to other solutions."
"GajShield Next Generation Firewall is not that expensive, and its pricing is better than Palo Alto."
"GajShield is a cheaper solution as of now. The subscription is yearly."

"It was about 15% cheaper compared to Sophos."
"GajShield Next Generation Firewall is cheaper than the other products in the market. The licensing costs for the solution are on a yearly basis."
"This is an expensive product."
"Compared to other vendors, the pricing of this solution is good."
"The pricing is very inexpensive which is the main reason I bought the solution. One device costs around 50 EUR through the University's vendor who is modernizing our network."
"It has a low price."
"There is a licensing fee."
"For a medium-sized organization, the cost for the licensing and implementation of Juniper SRX for 10 users would be about $300-400."
"In general, their price definitely couldn't be cheaper."
"It is best suited to an enterprise-level, as the mid-range companies may find that the cost is not affordable."
