Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Delivers efficiency and agility with USB control limitations
One area where we lag is that, since we use everything from Heimdal, including XDR and other features, we also use the privilege manager feature called Elevation. What we lack is granular USB control. We have an issue where we can only switch USB on or off. I want to whitelist specific devices in the network, which I currently cannot do.

Strong endpoint protection has simplified compliance and reduced effort for large user environments
One of the best features of Trellix Endpoint Security Platform is its endpoint security, and I have been using it for the last four and a half to five years, so I can say this is one of the best EDR endpoint security solutions I have ever seen. The features that make Trellix Endpoint Security Platform stand out for me are ease of use and analytics, which I really appreciate the most. Trellix Endpoint Security Platform positively impacts my organization, ensuring we are compliant with SOC 2, HIPAA, and all other compliance requirements, so there are no issues with that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Once you become familiar with it, Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a more powerful tool and I would say that I prefer it over MDE because it is a stronger tool for me."
"Based on my experience, I would recommend Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks to other people."
"I generally believe that Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is probably the best in the market right now."
"One thing that I like about Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, it is detecting all the suspicious or malicious binaries, and it has integration with Palo Alto Firewall."
"WildFire AI is the best option for this product."
"The stability of the solution is very good. We have about 100 users on it right now, and we use it twice a week."
"From the Palo Alto side, whatever they buy, they integrate that really well into their integration suite, and that makes a massive difference."
"The initial setup isn't too bad."
"As compared to multiple solutions I have used in the past, Heimdal is a very agile and lightweight solution."
"McAfee Endpoint Security is easy to use, and it integrates well."
"I would recommend this solution."
"I prefer FireEye to solutions like CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, and Trend Micro which are not as user-friendly."
"The stability of the solution is very reliable, with no bugs or glitches, no crashes or freezes, and great performance."
"Threat prevention is valuable because most clients use other solutions like antivirus as part of web protection. I don't find that kind of solution useful."
"The features we have found most valuable have been containment as well as the ability to triage agent activities."
"We like the management of the ePO, and we like the management console."
"McAfee is one of my favorites; it's very stable and reliable, and there are no bugs or glitches."

Cons

"The playbooks could be improved to include more functionalities or actions."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is not only pricey; it is extremely expensive."
"They've been having some issues with updating their endpoint agents, and it has been quite frustrating."
"Data privacy is a matter of concern. You have to be careful with data privacy, it can be sensitive and Cortex can have most of your access."
"Being able to filter the events to see those that are related to the actual alert would save time spent by the engineer."
"The only issues that we have are, one the cost, two the dashboard is not very intuitive, even though you can drill down within the dashboard, we usually have to gather information from other sources to determine locations and if its a false positive."
"It is an enterprise-level solution. Its price could be less expensive."
"The setup is quite easy. We had appropriate support from the manager. One thing that was missing was the integration part."
"What we lack is granular USB control. We have an issue where we can only switch USB on or off."
"We don't have very good local technical support."
"The software download features could stand improvement."
"The solution has problematic encryption, which needs reforming."
"The solution's technical support should be improved since we faced a lot of issues with the support. There were some delays in responses from the technical support."
"The solution needs to improve its virtual patching capabilities. One area where it could improve is by offering a patch management solution bundled with its security products. This would make it even more competitive against solutions like Kaspersky that offer this feature."
"A quicker turnaround with patches and updates would be good."
"The initial setup isn't so easy. You need to know what you are doing."
"It is a bit technical. The user interface has some significant limitations, mainly when using HIPS on the server side, to protect files from being changed or deleted by hackers, users, or administrators."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"Cortex XDR's pricing is ok."
"Our customers have expressed that the price is high."
"This is an expensive solution."
"It is cost-effective compared to similar solutions. It fits for the small businesses through to the big businesses."
"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"The solution is expensive. It's pricing is on a yearly-basis."

"The pricing is great and licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis."
"It is not that expensive. There is no additional cost. We got the entire bundle together."
