Has handled backup storage needs reliably and supports seamless upgrades
In environments requiring high throughput and low latency, Pure Storage FlashBlade provides high throughput and normal latency, but we do not have any application that requires low latency right now, so the latency of three to five milliseconds is considered kind of high. Pure Storage FlashBlade's ability to integrate with enterprise applications is not important for us, as we only want to present an S3 bucket for our backup, which we have done, and it works very fast. We use the Purity software's data reduction techniques; we have a backup software that compresses everything before sending it to the S3 bucket, achieving a data reduction of 1.1 to one. I would recommend Pure Storage FlashBlade to other companies because it's a very fast and scalable solution for anyone who needs it. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this solution an 8.

Exceptional service and hands-off infrastructure management enhance data handling and AI workloads
The features of HPE GreenLake for File Storage that I value the most include compute, storage, and managed service, and monitoring managed service. I appreciate the fact that my team doesn't have to manage all the infrastructure every day, handle patches, security updates, and similar tasks. Time saving is an example of how these features have benefited my organization. My team can focus on supporting our core businesses and not worry about infrastructure management. Also, expertise plays a role; we're a first-time HPE GreenLake customer, so having them manage that gives my team the opportunity to upskill without breaking anything.

Enables seamless file distribution while benefiting from scalability but could use simplified implementation

Pros

"It has also helped to simplify storage for us in the way that it's easy to manage. Their automatic monitoring really helps when things break or are about to break. They see a problem coming and alert us even before our own system does."
"We can capacity plan at a greater level than we used to."
"The initial setup is pretty quick."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its fast performance, especially in handling snapshots. It helps during power outages when we need to quickly move data between different data centers. It ensures efficient replication and helps maintain our data centers' uptime."
"It is very easy to use, and it is very fast."
"What I like best about Pure Storage FlashBlade is its object storage functionality, plus it has fast underlying hardware. Pure Storage FlashBlade is also very stable. I find its stability one of its valuable features."
"It's very easy-to-use."
"The most valuable feature is Safe Mode."
"The feature of HPE GreenLake for File Storage that I appreciate most is that we don't have to do much with it; we stood up our environment a long time ago, and we've got HA redundancy with our controllers, which means we don't have to touch it."
"What I really appreciate about HPE GreenLake for File Storage is its well-organized, packaged platform for running enterprise workloads on the cloud."
"The biggest impact is that we doubled our data center capacity from six racks to 12 racks while still using the same team to manage this infrastructure."
"The most valuable features of HPE GreenLake for File Storage for my team are the managed switches and access points."
"The most valuable feature of HPE GreenLake for File Storage is the pricing model."
"The best features of HPE GreenLake for File Storage are that customers appreciate them because they can make availability of the products through the options of service."
"I find the speed and the resiliency of the HPE GreenLake for File Storage to be the most valuable features."
"The solution helps with scaling. It helps with a fast response to changing realities."
"Fusion provides the ability to install the secret server and distribute files; it serves as a black box where tickets are opened only if issues arise, reducing frequent upgrade problems."

Cons

"I want efficiency. FlashBlade doesn't have efficiency now."
"I would like to see more VM-Aware features in the next release of this solution."
"Commvault has mainly driven the Analytics, providing data and reports. However, the product has room for improvement, especially regarding storage analytics. Upgrading firmware has caused issues, requiring feature disabling to revert to traditional backups. The firmware upgrades sometimes affect Commvault backups."
"I would like to see the licensing fees improved as well as the price per terabytes."
"I would like to see better integration."
"It's on the expensive side, as expected for a niche product."
"It would be beneficial if the layer could support the S3 protocol and be container ready in the next release."
"I would like to see more monitoring capability included in the next release of this solution."
"In Argentina, the cost to implement different solutions is very challenging."
"Sometimes it's a black cloud. We don't know what to expect. We often find out we cannot use certain products or features due to not having a license, despite the seller saying at the beginning that it's good and usable."
"One of the issues is that sometimes it crashes frequently and experiences slowness."
"We have a problem at this moment with the prices when customers want to do the change request; the prices are higher than the customer expects."
"Some challenges with a multi-cloud environment due to some compatibility issues."
"I would like if they could do data immutability on the backup side. It's still the traditional backup in the way that we take incremental data points, but I would prefer to see the backups be air-gapped from the rest of the network, so if there's ransomware, we don't have that concern about reintroducing bad data that might be corrupted."
"There were instances where the system went down due to heavy IO or intense data flow."
"The customer service and technical support are a little challenging, as they need to address many gaps in those areas."
"The implementation is complex, especially when using custom servers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is a little high."
"The product is very expensive."
"In my opinion, we have paid the right price for the product. I don't think that it is too much or too little."
"It's a costly solution, but Pure Storage FlashBlade doesn't require additional licenses. All of the software is combined into one bundle."
"I understand that it is competitively priced compared to other brands."
"The pricing for FlashBlade is between cheap and moderate."
"Our customers have seen a reduction in TCO."
"Our licensing is renewed annually."
