Experience seamless integration and responsive tech support for smooth operations
Amazon RDS is easy to use. It is somewhat pricier but manageable. It has easy tasks and integrates smoothly with frontend components. When using IDE services such as PgAdmin, the installation steps are straightforward. The availability is also high, which is why we use it. It offers easy scalability and migration between different configurations. RDS performs well overall. The main consideration is pricing, which is higher compared to alternatives such as DigitalOcean. For backup and restore operations, it takes slightly longer - approximately 2-3 minutes compared to 2 minutes with other providers. There are also more steps to follow compared to other service providers. The installation process is straightforward with no complex requirements. Users can directly select their desired database, memory requirements, and port numbers without complications.

Ensures reliable operation and consistent performance but lifecycle management need improvement
QFabric simplified our data center network architecture by reducing configuration complexity compared to Cisco devices. It required fewer CLI commands, making configuration quicker and easier, especially for scalable deployments. QFabric improved scalability in our data center by simplifying the addition of new switches to existing configurations. The process was straightforward to manage. Implementing QFabric can affect overall IT infrastructure costs differently based on configuration needs. For small businesses with stable configurations, costs remain unchanged. However, for scalability and expansion, additional configuration and time may increase costs. My advice for those using Juniper is to ensure staff are well-trained and certified in Juniper technologies, such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE. With these skills, you can effectively manage and troubleshoot Juniper solutions, minimizing potential issues and maximizing performance. Overall, I would rate Juniper QFabric as a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have found the solution to be entirely stable."
"In my experience, the scalability has been good."
"It is easy to use and the main advantage is that we can connect to the system from anywhere directly."
"HPE ProCurve's most valuable feature is that it is user-friendly."
"Backup and CLI - being able to backup the device configurations within our enterprise software, our customers can track any changes made as we keep a history of all configuration changes."
"We don't mind the cost in general."
"It's easy to manage and configure. The configurations can be exported and imported to another solution."
"This product is very stable; in the time that I have used it, over the past five and a half years, it's been rock solid."
"Technical support is good."
"The 40 gig backbone InterConneX was valuable for our use case. It is even faster now. QFabric has spine-leaf technology or topology, which basically makes every single hop only one hop away in terms of connecting from one device to another. It is a pretty good and robust solution. It works pretty well in terms of scalability, and their technical support is amazing."
"The technical support is amazing, they are responsive and handle cases extremely well, probably one of the better technical assistants that I have worked with over the years."
"Juniper QFabric has various advantages including scalability, simplicity, performance, and flexibility."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable feature of QFabric for network performance is its stability."
"The vendor maintains the product well."
"It's user-friendly."

Cons

"These switches can be made more stable and robust."
"An area for improvement in HPE ProCurve is the web interface not being as robust because you still have to go to the COI to make modifications or look at the exact configuration."
"One of the weakest points of this solution is its on-premise. We are not able to do all we need to with the CLI."
"We do occasionally have issues with the solution and need to change out the switches sometimes. This can be due to the fan, but, in most cases, it's because the power supply was broken."
"The image of the solution has dropped in recent years due to HPE enterprise management."
"It might be best if it offers better scalability."
"The product could be cheaper."
"The product could improve scalability and support for advanced networking features."
"They are working on the virtualization of the actual fabric layer. They are moving away from the original spine-leaf design to a different infrastructure. Instead of having three tiers, which was the director of the interconnected nodes, they cut them back, and they still have that kind of structure."
"The disruptive upgrade was an issue for us."
"I do not use GUI's very much for switch stacks. I am always in the CLI. However, I do know that Juniper in the past has lacked on their GUI's, but they have been working on it."
"The pricing structure could be more budget-friendly."
"The price for Juniper QFabric could improve."
"The stability needs to be improved."
"We are quite disappointed in Juniper switches."
"Improvements could be made to QFabric's life cycle management, particularly in maintaining stable versions and extending product support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is no need to pay for the solution's license."
"HPE ProCurve price could improve. We have a three-year warranty."
"The licensing for HPE ProCurve is a one-time cost, though it's varied somewhat. What my company purchased was usually between $3,500 and $5,000 one-time cost."
"This is an expensive switch."
"It provides quite good value for money."
"I would rate the pricing a six out of ten, with one being very cheap and ten being very expensive."
"The price of HPE ProCurve is very good."
"The purchasing cost a few years ago for two units was approx €5,000."
"Juniper QFabric is a high-level solution but it could be less expensive."
"The price is relatively high, but it offers an advantage over its competitors by providing better performance and functionality."
"The price for Juniper QFabric could improve. There are subscription, maintenance, and add-on feature fees."
"In terms of price, the QFabric solution is going to be probably in the middle of the road for a fabric solution."
"The pricing is high."
"The pricing is high and it is possible to find better pricing option solutions on the market, but the licensing model is quite flexible."
