Have managed daily asset and alert monitoring effectively but have encountered limitations with manual processes and interface usability
It's still very manual and doesn't work on its own. It's still in an early stage and not on par where we can consider it a really successful detection system. The accuracy is not there. The UI could be better when compared to Sentinels where we can use flags and tagging. It could be much more user-friendly. IBM Security QRadar has all features and is fully competitive with other SIEM tools, but when it comes to user-friendliness, a new user takes time to get used to it. More intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and more helpful documentation would be beneficial. The query searching and data fetching could be faster. In large to very large organizations with around 5,000 or 6,000 assets or beyond, even with proper configurations and RAM and hardware backing up, the query is fairly slow.

I've evaluated Splunk and IBM Q1 but LogLogic is the best choice for log management. SIEM functionality needs improvement.
If you are searching for log management solution, LogLogic is probably the best choice. The SIEM functionality is not at that level, and I suggest instead to choose another SIEM solution (eg: IBM Q1). In my experience, a good practice is to separate log management from SIEM in a way that they are two separate systems.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One of the most valuable features of this solution is it has very good data correlation."
"The ability to correlate large amounts of data into rules that provide real-time alerting is the most valuable feature."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is how it monitors the real network. That is its leading security feature."
"When you go for this solution, you are paying not only for the product but also for integration, good staff to help you, scalability, and many other things."
"It is really helpful to us from the compliance point of view."
"Search capabilities are sufficient for most tasks."
"It has the ability to summarize all the other security products and give us a one-stop-shop dashboard."
"What I like about IBM QRadar User Behavior Analytics is that it uses machine learning algorithms to generate risk scoring for the user activity."
"Having logs in a central location helps with troubleshooting, forensic investigations, and legal investigations."
"If you are searching for log management solution, LogLogic is probably the best choice."

Cons

"We had several serious issues with this product, which made it impossible to use for a customer."
"Reporting should be very good, and a proper integration with cloud, not only the IBM cloud, but with other clouds also."
"The GUI or graphic interface for IBM Security QRadar is neither good nor bad, but I hope for it to be more interesting, more live, and have better style."
"Some of the cloud apps need improvement."
"The threat detection needs improvement, they have many false positives."
"It would be good if the program allowed certain profiles to only see certain customer information."
"You can scale IBM QRadar User Behavior Analytics, but it has room for improvement."
"The solution can be improved by lowering the cost and bettering their technical support."
"Customer Service: On a scale of 1-5, 0. They say the right things but don't deliver when it counts."
"Definitely SIEM – other vendors have gone a lot further in developing SIEM functionality and made a lot more in this area."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is costlier as compared to the other alternatives available in the market."
"Pricing and licensing are competitive. Their new licensing options allow logs to bypass the correlation engine for a flat rate, which is also appealing for log data that is compliance-driven for a small amount of money."
"The tool is priced in a competitive manner. The tool's price is dependent on the installation and the product size, but it is competitive in the marketplace."
"Our licensing costs for this solution is on a yearly basis."
"When it comes to the initial pricing there can be a huge discount from there side and also I think they are open to competing with other products."
"IBM QRadar User Behavior Analytics is an application framework and you can install many applications without any additional costs."
"The solution is costly and the price differs depending on the vendor you use."
"There is a license required for this solution and it is an annual payment. I have found all solutions in the category to be expensive, including Splunk."
