Have managed daily asset and alert monitoring effectively but have encountered limitations with manual processes and interface usability
It's still very manual and doesn't work on its own. It's still in an early stage and not on par where we can consider it a really successful detection system. The accuracy is not there. The UI could be better when compared to Sentinels where we can use flags and tagging. It could be much more user-friendly. IBM Security QRadar has all features and is fully competitive with other SIEM tools, but when it comes to user-friendliness, a new user takes time to get used to it. More intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and more helpful documentation would be beneficial. The query searching and data fetching could be faster. In large to very large organizations with around 5,000 or 6,000 assets or beyond, even with proper configurations and RAM and hardware backing up, the query is fairly slow.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"IBM has everything you need in a cybersecurity solution. If you want to build a cybersecurity operation center version then I think QRadar is a perfect solution."
"I suggest others to go with IBM Security QRadar because it is an IBM product and many companies and bank environments are using IBM Security QRadar because of its strong visibility and analysis capabilities."
"I think QRadar is stable and currently satisfies my needs."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its ability to rectify a situation involving any anomalies expeditiously."
"Technical support is good; my personal experience was fantastic, they are always good and we have never had any problems."
"The QNI feature is the one I am very interested in, and I have also been interested in Watson. From the log analysis and the security perspective, we are able to dive deep into any of the logs and anomalies."
"The user behavior analytics as part of our deployment was okay, even though it was clunky."
"IBM Security QRadar's AI and machine learning capabilities for threat detection and response are exceptional, and Q Site is used to create panels and visualizations of software development processes."
"The security level that they are maintaining with the pre-authentication keys is very good."
"The solution is not expensive for the data security measure you receive, it is reasonable."

Cons

"There are many types of AI, and this AI is very limited in SQL and features. There may be potential for improvement."
"QRadar UBA only keeps the data for a short while (it's refreshed every five minutes) and would be improved if this were extended to a week or month."
"The initial setup was complex, and it took six months."
"Before we didn't have any security issues but recently a few of the user emails were hacked. We had to actually recreate their emails for them."
"I need a solution which will send alerts in the event of any behavior."
"The implementation and configuration are not easy."
"For the common needs of clients to fulfill requirements, a real integration with Blueworks Live (BPA modeling tool also from IBM) and a more suitable BPM on cloud solution for midsize customers."
"QRadar needs to be improved on the storage side, particularly when the disc exceeded the maximum threshold."
"The solution could improve by providing better documentation for beginners to learn, such as videos or other tutorials."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's very expensive but it fits our budget."
"Its price is good in terms of efficiency and the number of people required for implementing various things. You might pay more in terms of money, but you might save on the number of people. For example, if you are using Kibana, you have to pay more for people or experts, which is not the case with IBM QRadar."
"The price of this solution is a little bit expensive, so if it were cheaper then it would help."
"Pricing is good."
"The pricing is good."
"It is costlier as compared to the other alternatives available in the market."
"Our licensing costs for this solution is on a yearly basis."
"On a scale of one to ten, I rate the price a one, where one is an extremely expensive product, and ten is a cheap product."
"The solution is not expensive for the data security measure you receive, it is reasonable."
