Advanced predictive analytics have supported my research and student projects across many methods
The only function I may need to be added or hope to be added to IBM SPSS Statistics is how to treat unstructured data. This mainly exists with IBM SPSS Modeler, but I do not think it is able to treat something like videos and similar content unless you are using languages like Python inside IBM SPSS Modeler or inside IBM SPSS Statistics. For the menu itself, for the selection, it does not exist. Thinking of the future, I believe that the owners of IBM SPSS Statistics should think about improving the package itself to be able to treat unstructured data.

A stable product that is easy to deploy and can be used for structured and unstructured data mining
We use the solution for predictive analytics to do structured and unstructured data mining I like the way the product visually shows the data pipeline. The product must provide better integration with cloud-native technologies. I have been using the solution for 20 years. The product is very…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The SPSS interface is very accessible and user-friendly; it's really easy to get information in it, and I've shared it with experts and beginners, and everyone can navigate it."
"It is a modeling tool with helpful automation."
"The most valuable feature is its robust statistical analysis capabilities."
"If you want to do a quick analysis, SPSS is quite robust and quicker in terms of providing the output."
"IBM SPSS Statistics depends on AI."
"The current features meet with the needs of our company."
"The software offers consistency across multiple research projects helping us with predictive analytics capabilities."
"In terms of the features, I think that the modelling section in IBM SPSS Clementine is very good, it has a lot of modeling techniques compared to other tools."
"Most of the features, especially on the data analysis tool pack, are really good. The way they do clustering and output is great. You can do fairly elaborate outputs. The results, the ensembles, all of these, are fantastic."
"The data processing of the solution is very good, easy to use, both for enterprise and personal use."
"The most valuable feature is that you can use multiple algorithms for creating models and then you can compare the results between them."
"The technical support is very good."
"Overall it is a good solution."
"The most valuable feature is the decision tree creation."
"I found the ease of use of the solution the most valuable. Additionally, other valuable features include: the user interface, power to extract data, compatibility with other technologies (specifically with PS400), and automation of several tasks."
"Performance is excellent."

Cons

"There is a learning curve; it's not very steep, but there is one."
"I think there is an issue with the charting and visualization, and I don't think it works as well as the competitive product."
"Improvements are needed in the user interface, particularly in terms of user-friendliness."
"Some of the versions have issues. It is not always made public that a “fix” is available."
"IBM SPSS Statistics could be cheaper."
"The solution needs more planning tools and capabilities."
"SPSS slows down the computer or the laptop if the data is huge; then you need a faster computer."
"The solution needs to improve forecasting using time series analysis."
"The visualization of the models is not very attractive, so the graphics should be improved."
"The solution is very stable, but we do have some problems with discrepancies involving SAS not matching with the latest Java versions. It's not stable in cases where SAS tries to run on a different version because SAS doesn't connect with the latest Java update. Once a month we need to restart systems from scratch."
"Virtualization could be much better."
"The stability isn't perfect. We have issues with accuracy in some AI forecasting areas, and the accuracy is not as good as the clients need it to be."
"The license is really expensive. This solution is for large corporations because not everybody can afford it."
"The product must provide better integration with cloud-native technologies."
"The ease of use can be improved. When you are new it seems a bit complex."
"We really don't like the protocols the solution offers. The solution is much more complex than other options."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the tool's pricing a five out of ten."
"The price of this solution is a little bit high, which was a problem for my company."
"While the pricing of the product may be higher, the accompanying service and features justify the investment."
"We think that IBM SPSS is expensive for this function."
"More affordable training for new staff members."
"It's quite expensive, but they do a special deal for universities."
"The pricing of the modeler is high and can reduce the utility of the product for those who can not afford to adopt it."
"If it requires lot of data processing, maybe switching to IBM SPSS Clementine would be better for the buyer."
"The solution is expensive for an individual, but for an enterprise/institution (purchasing bulk licenses), it is not a high price for the use that will come from it."
"The solution must improve its licensing models."
"This solution is for large corporations because not everybody can afford it."
