Offers strong integration capabilities and reliable features but needs pricing and scaling improvements
Many things are evolving with the AI buzz in the market. What I would like to see improved or enhanced in webMethods.io in the future is that since webMethods.io is already under IBM, I think IBM will introduce and integrate AI into it. Additionally, regarding what webMethods.io can improve is the license cost. Other cloud players are also providing the same kind of functionality, such as AWS and Azure. webMethods.io is being installed on-premises, but AWS is providing it directly in the cloud. When comparing the license cost and request per minute cost, webMethods.io needs to address that. There are many competitors in the market for this.

A low-performing integration tool
We use it as an in-house back-type integration tool. It allows us to have different integrations between different systems It does not perform well. It needs more reusable components that are unlimited in time. Furthermore, it relies on the files systems and does not create components, so it is…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Stability is pseudo-perfect."
"One of the most important features is that it gives you the possibility to do low-level integration. It provides a lot of features out of the box, and over the years, it has matured so much that any problem that is there in the market can be solved with this product. We can meet any requirements through customizations, transformations, or the logic that needs to be put in. Some of the other products struggle in this aspect. They cannot do things in a certain way, or they have a product limitation, whereas, with webMethods, I have never faced this kind of problem."
"A product with good API and EDI components."
"It's very flexible and a good platform to use."
"It integrates well with various servers."
"The most valuable feature of webMethods Integration Server is all the capabilities it provides. We leverage most of the features, that they have offered to us. Our vendor has made some additional features on top of the webMethods Integration Server and we use all the features together."
"webMethods API Gateway is the most stabilized tool with a robust integration server."
"API Gateways and API Management in general first and foremost standardizes and democratizes the Integration problem across all IT domains."
"The stability of the solution is OK."

Cons

"Yes, there is still plenty of room for improvement in MWS, SAG Designer."
"Broker Trading partners Portal"
"When it comes to scaling, it requires more RAM and more machines."
"Regarding the stateful session inbound to ESB (Integration Server), it seems that the stateful session sometimes doesn't die out when the transaction is finished, but waits until the timeout expires (although quite often it doesn't even die after the timeout expires, which eventually would flood the server)."
"We'd like for them to open up to a more cloud-based solution that could offer more flexibility and maybe a better rules engine or more integration with rules engines."
"The product must add more compatible connectors."
"It is difficult to maintain."
"I am not satisfied with the solution because it takes too much effort to migrate and add new information. The migration could be easier."
"It does not perform well. It needs more reusable components that are unlimited in time."
"It is not performing well."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Initialy good pricing and good, if it comes to Enterprise license agreements."
"There is a license needed to use the webMethods Integration Server."
"The product is very expensive."
"The pricing is a yearly license."
"With our current licensing, it's very easy for us to scale. With our older licensing model, it was very hard. This is definitely something that I would highlight."
"Its cost depends on the use cases."
"webMethods.io Integration's pricing is high and has yearly subscription costs."
"The solution's development license is free for three to six months. We have to pay for other things."
