CyberArk manager at a comms service provider with 10,001+ employees
Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Helps to build invoices but needs to improve the issue with bugs
I use the solution to build invoices for tenants or vendors.  The tool has bugs and breaks down at times.  I have been using Zoho Vault for a long time.  I would rate the tool's stability a seven out of ten.  I would rate Zoho Vault's scalability a seven out of ten. My company has 20-30 users…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"CyberArk's architecture is peculiar; it is the most secure on the market because they have a hardened computer out of the domain that stores passwords with multiple cryptography."
"CyberArk is one of the best PAM solutions and one of the most expensive, but it works better than the others, so the pricing is fair."
"The most valuable feature is platform management. It is quite easy to manage privileged access for certain target platforms with CyberArk Privileged Access Manager as compared to other products I have worked with."
"For audit and risk purposes, CyberArk EPV has helped us meet our standards and requirements to help us comply with industry standards and banking regulations."
"DNA tool is amazing, far better than imaginable in previous years."
"It enables companies to automate password management on target systems gaining a more secure access management approach."
"If your business/organization has crown-jewel data, this is the tool to use."
"It's been a big win for us as we're now able to start managing service accounts with AIM."
"I use the solution to build invoices for tenants or vendors."

Cons

"It should be easy to use for non-technical people. Its interface can be a bit difficult."
"If we could have some kind of out-of-the box feature that you can simply say "no" so they don't have to go into a development mode, that would a really helpful feature."
"They can work on the pricing part. Its pricing is a big challenge here."
"If you don't know the product well, it might not be easy to set up, because CyberArk has several modules."
"I'd like to see a more expansive SSH tunneling situation through PSMP. Right now you have an account that exists in the vault and you say, "I want to create a tunnel using this account." I'd like to see something that is not account-based where I could say, "I want to create a tunnel to this machine over here," and then authenticate through the PSMP and then your tunnel is set up. You wouldn't need to then authenticate to a machine."
"Pricing is a problem. CyberArk is expensive compared to other products I know."
"In CyberArk Privileged Access Manager, the UI has room for improvement, as does the dashboard reporting, which could be made better or easier to use."
"I would say there are scalability issues. After the solution is deployed, resizing it is difficult."
"The tool has bugs and breaks down at times."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of CyberArk support could be a little bit less. Otherwise, pricing is fine."
"With reducing the privileged account access, there has been a huge improvement. They are now bringing more accounts on a little at a time."
"Before we bought it, they were licensing each function individually, which got complicated and very expensive. When we decided to buy it, it was much more straightforward and still quite expensive, but it brings a lot of value and risk reduction to the organization."
"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"My company always complains about the cost of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager because it's too high."
"Its price can be reduced."
"Its price is high. I have also worked with Delinea. CyberArk is comparatively expensive compared to other PAM solutions, such as Delinea, especially during renewal."
"CyberArk is very expensive and there are additional fees for add-ons."
"Zoho Vault is cheap."
