Patch management and integration capabilities drive effective endpoint response management
We work with Kaspersky and two modalities: the Censi final and Censi license. Most of our clients work in financial areas and industry. Our regular enterprise business relies on these solutions Kaspersky is viable with ADR; the Endpoint Detection response feature and the BitLocker management…

Customization capabilities allow clients to autonomously deploy policies
There are a few areas where Trellix Endpoint Security ( /categories/endpoint-protection-platform-epp ) can improve. Firstly, the high CPU utilization when agents are installed can negatively impact client systems. Another issue is with end-users outside the network, where the agent handler sometimes fails to deploy the product properly. Improvements are needed in forensic analytics to detect specific vulnerabilities. It would also help if detection specifics were identified more quickly and the problem-solving process accelerated, especially to meet larger clients' expectations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We compared Kaspersky and Trend Micro. The latter is significantly more expensive. That's the main difference."
"This is a feature-rich product."
"The most valuable features of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response are the threat detection technologies, and activity monitoring and support tools. Additionally, the port and USB security, and antivirus are effective."
"Encryption is the most valuable feature. It creates an encryption tunnel from your location to the delivery address."
"It helps improve security in our organization."
"We've found the solution to be stable."
"My impression of the stability of this solution is good. We have not had any issues with stability."
"The detection engine running on endpoints works very well and provides a good protection level."
"FireEye Endpoint Security's scalability is awesome. I think it is one of the best on that front."
"It provides a lot of information and great visibility, with really great options for managing the environment."
"The exploit guard and malware protection features are very useful. The logon tracker feature is also very useful. They have also given new modules such as logout backup, process backup. We ordered these modules from the FireEye market place, and we have installed these modules. We are currently exploring these features."
"It is a really strong solution for endpoint security."
"The technical support services are good."
"I recommend Trellix Endpoint Security to others as it seems like one of the industry standards and is fairly stable."
"A great console with a user-friendly GUI."
"We receive good protection with this solution."

Cons

"The solution can improve by providing automatic fixing of vulnerabilities and reducing the resources used in the server component and endpoint agent. They are very bulky and use a lot of CPU, memory, and hard drive resources."
"The system can be heavy, slowing down performance."
"It is not easy to follow the kill chain of a potential infection or malware."
"It's not a simple implementation."
"Kaspersky EDR currently has limited OS support. They only focus on Windows Server and Windows. Kaspersky recently released a Linux version, but it's rudimentary. It does not have any advanced features available on Windows platforms. They should increase their footprint on the Linux side and support other operating systems on the market, like MacOS."
"The Kaspersky console could be easier to navigate and generate reports from."
"The issue with Kaspersky EDR is the sandbox. I'd like to have the ability to manage it on the cloud as well."
"The solution lacks DLP."
"We know that McAfee isn't the best antivirus and it can't protect us 100%, although we are okay with the level of protection that it gives us."
"Impacts performance of the servers quite negatively."
"They can make it free, but that's not going to happen."
"The technical support needs some improvement. When product distribution errors occur, we have to contact technical support, which is a very tedious task."
"The central monitoring dashboard needs improvement."
"The product needs to reduce the usage of RAM and CPU."
"Upgrading to new versions isn't easy and it can take a long time. Also, other solutions' tamper protection features are better than FireEye's. Clients should have access to our local information, but they shouldn't change settings on the system itself."
"Malware detection can be better. It doesn't have support and detection for the recent malware, but it has a compensatory control where it can do the behavior-based assessment and alert you when there is something malicious or unexpected. For example, when a certain user is executing the privilege command, which is not normal. These dynamic detections are good, and they compensate for malware detection."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution’s pricing is okay."
"Endpoint's pricing is good, especially compared to expensive solutions like Sophos."
"The license for EDR costs about 1,000 pesos per user. I would rate the pricing as four out of five."
"There is an annual license to use Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response. The price overall is a bit expensive when compared to other solutions. There are not any additional fees other than the license."
"Pricing for Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is so-so when you compare it with its competitors. Its pricing isn't cheap nor expensive."
"The pricing is reasonable. Not too cheap, not too expensive."
"The price of the solution could be reduced."
"The solution is expensive in comparison to CheckPoint and Fortinet."
"There are some extra expenses for using the product, in addition to licensing related to the maintenance of the product."
"This product is costly."
"The solution is not an expensive tool. Compared to other options, it's mostly average-priced. I've deployed it for customers ranging from 100 nodes to over 5,000 nodes. Its renewal prices are very low, and it offers both perpetual and subscription licenses. With a perpetual license, the product will keep working as long as it's not end-of-life, which benefits companies."
"Trellix may cost around $46 to $47 for a single license without an EDR."
"Licensing fees are paid yearly."
"The current pricing is much better than before because they now offer product-related promotions along with some changes in product licensing. The new pricing model is better than before."
"Customers would need to purchase a license. If a customer purchases an MVISION Endpoint license, he may use that license to install ENS. It's a flexible license where you have the option to either use the McAfee security software or the Windows Defender managed by McAfee, which is MVISION Endpoint."
