Easy to scale and good record to report capabilities but needs better training
It's not a very popular tool. There are very limited resources available in the market in terms of implementation. They need to offer training plans for graduates so that more resources are available in the market. The support needs to be faster. The solution needs to be lighter. It's a bit too heavy.

Running secure internal banking applications has been reliable and supports fast deployments
I am still working with Oracle products. I am still using Enterprise Manager 14c. I am using Oracle Database, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle EBS, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Linux. I can answer questions about my experience with WebLogic Suite. I use it in my company. I have not used WebLogic's diagnostic tools. I do not utilize its lifecycle management features. I do not have much experience with WebLogic Java EE support, as I just deploy the application and the other team utilizes this server. I am not directly involved in WebLogic. I have been using Oracle Linux myself. The deployment is local, on-premises. I have been working with Enterprise Manager as well. All the components of Oracle I am using are on-premises. I use Oracle 19c database, Oracle ExaCC, Exadata on Cloud at Customer. I have been using Oracle Linux, Enterprise Manager, and databases as well. I have been working with Oracle Database for about 20 years. My experience has been 100% positive with Oracle Database. I have utilized its Real Application Clusters along with Data Guard. I do not use Oracle's Advanced Analytics and machine learning features right now. I have given this review an overall rating of 9 out of 10.

Pros

"The solution scales easily."
"Processing and accounting of credit card transactions."
"Using the product, we make less mistakes, are more organized and faster than if we did it any another way."
"The solution is stable."
"The solution is extremely stable."
"Stability and availability are the features I like the most in the solution."
"The solution is very stable."
"The thing that probably stands out the most about Oracle Database is reliability; I have been working with Oracle Databases for over 25 years, and I have never lost any data due to a machine going down or any events that were not stupid human tricks."
"There is no other database that supports us like Oracle."

Cons

"There are very limited resources available in the market in terms of implementation. They need to offer training plans for graduates so that more resources are available in the market."
"Oracle technical support is not very good compared to Microsoft technical support, the latter of which is more proactive and reachable."
"The price tag is very high and most cannot afford it."
"The initial setup was very complex - best case, it takes between four and six hours to set up."
"Oracle Database is expensive."
"This product would be improved with Support Services for more production access."
"The initial setup isn't exactly straightforward; it's a bit more complex than, for example, an SQL Server, which is much more straightforward and simple to deploy."
"I've encountered stability issues with Oracle on Windows Server after regular updates."
"It's so huge, so vast. If we're talking about security, there could be improvements."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We mainly use a special license for ERP systems specifically, instead of a general purpose license. This ERP-focused license is very simple. You just have to use Oracle Database with an ERP system and that's it."
"Its cost is astronomical. They charge by the size of the server rather than what you're actually using. It is just a terrible business model. It has got a ton of features that are great, but you have to pay for them, and we don't want to spend a lot of money. If you use any of their additional products, you have to pay for those. Almost everything extra is at an additional charge. We also use RAC, and there is an additional charge for that."
"Seeing as a lot of our applications use Oracle, our team has been able to negotiate a better deal."
"Oracle is also very expensive."
"There are licensing costs."
"The pricing model could be better."
"It is expensive."
"The price of the solution could improve."
