Enables customers to build their own reports, but performance could be better
The most important criterion when selecting a vendor is reliability. I would give this solution a seven out of 10. It does some good stuff, but there needs to be more performance. Make sure that you have really good people working on the server administration, to make sure you're doing it right, the setup is right.

Daily invoice analytics has become streamlined and complex data modeling is now simplified
We are not using analytics features and possibly predictive analytics and forecasting features in QlikView, although they are available. QlikView is very flexible, but we are currently using only tabular presentation of data because that is what we need. Presenting a large volume of data in QlikView with graphics can be overwhelming for the majority of people who want to see a lot of information in one picture. It would be beneficial to have AI or ML features in QlikView. However, I think they will decommission QlikView, and AI features are already available in Qlik Sense, so you would need to migrate to that platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Rapid development and deployment of solutions with low-cost server-based licensing is attractive in high user count environments."
"Self-service reporting modules allow customers to build their own reports."
"People really like the way the reports look, there are lots of fancy bells and whistles on the report designer."
"A must have for the business looking to understand their processes in an easy to consume way"
"Strong visual capabilities, drill down function and data browsing."
"The most useful feature of QlikView for me is the QVD concept."
"Our business finds this tool very impressive, particularly the drill down to nth level is very good."
"It is a great product that is easy to learn."
"Use QlikView for business, and Qlik Sense for BI developers."
"Our sales reps use dashboards for reporting latest inventory quantities on a real-time basis, which is critical for the business."
"I do like the richness of details you can set up."
"Using QlikView, we have been able to derive the value out of our data much faster than with other tools because of its easy to understand/use components and features."

Cons

"It needs a much lower price. They are jacking up the price every year, which is wrong."
"The only feature I would like to see at this point is a normalized curve for Histograms"
"Performance dependant on back-end much more than some other toolsets."
"If a user wanted to see something not included in the application the new object had to be created by a power user or developer because Qlik view's scripting has somewhat of a learning curve."
"I have encountered scalability issues. Users get slower report response time when there are a lot of chart expressions."
"They need to improve on the idea, concept and support."
"For me, it is important to have a mix, what is the "view" and what is the "sense", Qlik Sense. They have two tools, but for me it is important to have only one tool, which combines the functions that we have from one side and the other side."
"The tool involves too much programming when compared to other tools."
"It could be more mobile friendly, as some of its features don’t work properly on mobile devices or do not provide the best user experience to our customers who would like to extend their access to data."
"Although we were able to gain insight into our organization, the pricing and performance of the system were too great to overcome."
"The solution is quite costly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It needs a much lower price. They are jacking up the price every year, which is wrong."
"The setup costs for QlikView are fair as are the yearly maintenance fees. The licensing becomes a bit more expensive and requires some planning for onboarding."
"My firm got the product at a cheap price, but in general, I believe that the product is a bit costly."
"I rate QlikView's pricing a five out of ten."
"The platform's pricing is considered quite expensive, particularly given the dollar-based pricing."
"The pricing is moderate, in the medium price range."
"Pricing is a bit too high and I think licenses should be unlimited."
"QlikView pricing and licensing is on the high side for a small sized company, but it's competitive among its peers."
"Qlik is fairly high in terms of pricing."
