Real-time security management with potential for enhanced training materials
I use ManageEngine Log360 to manage company alerts. It is used in the security part, looking for issues in Active Directory and performing various tasks in Office 365 Using ManageEngine Log360 has been a significant improvement for our company because it consolidates multiple tools into a single…

A stable and scalable solution that provide 24/7 monitoring
We have to protect customer data, including any PII, accessed via the internet terminal. Additionally, we need to monitor events from network devices and servers that may raise suspicion, allowing us to analyze them and determine what is occurring. SolarWinds affected your overall security costs. Considering the nature of our traffic, it has been very effective. We have proactively identified and addressed issues before they escalate into incidents. I've noticed a reduced investment in handling event-related cases with SolarWinds Security Event Manager. This reduction includes reducing human resources and the time required for teams to provide 24/7 monitoring. Consequently, there has been a significant decrease in costs. Additionally, the platform enables us to address issues before they escalate into incidents, thus preventing revenue leakage. As a result, the organization experiences reduced costs and avoids revenue leakage. Since the SolarWinds Security Event Manager implementation, the total budget allocated to security has been reduced by close to five percent. Initially, there was a heavy investment in that aspect, but we have observed this reduction in the allocated budget for the security team. Since implementing SolarWinds Security Event Manager, the team members' pressure has been reduced. They can now concentrate on more critical tasks and development, promoting growth within their department rather than solely focusing on incident monitoring. I recommend the solution. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The Sharecon feature is the most valuable."
"You can have all of the logs from servers to network and it gets sent out to the correct owners. This is very helpful."
"My main objective for using ManageEngine Log360 is its powerful and real-time capabilities for managing security and other tasks efficiently."
"The most valuable features for us are the application logs monitoring and the dashboard, which provides a single-pane view of all the ongoing activities."
"The most valuable feature is that this solution is more secure than others, and there are more applications and features as well."
"The reporting is great. Everything you need is in the report for you already."
"It is easier to deploy than are other SIEMs, which is great. You can also get an overview of your environment, which is very handy."
"The reports that you can run are really nice."
"It supports high availability, which is very helpful."
"It's easy to build rules and actions based on the logs and event types we collect with the software."
"It performs network behavior monitoring, log monitoring, and disaster recovery monitoring."
"The solution helps you monitor database instances, application instances, other customer application things, Linux servers, IBM servers, and Oracle servers."
"Some of the rules are most valuable because you can be notified about various things, such as spyware or things that are going on in the internal network."
"We did previously use a different solution, but SolarWinds is much better. It's easy to interact with SolarWinds. It's easy to operate, easy to configure and is generally easier compared to what we were working with before."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use for the end user."
"This tool is simple to use."

Cons

"It's difficult to find which conditions have been applied to a report because they are provided by default by ManageEngine. However, with other SIEMs if you want to create a report, they provide details, like which conditions are triggering certain reports. This needs to be there in ManageEngine. It would be good to know which parameter has been applied to the report that is updating the system."
"The graphical interface could be made easier to use when you are connecting to different network equipment."
"Their technical support should be improved."
"The matter of the data retention needs to be addressed."
"While ManageEngine Log360 is a significant improvement, there could be enhancements in terms of integrating more user-friendly training materials and better deployment documentation."
"Most times log sheets are not assigned well."
"The support needs improvement."
"We can log in as a local user, and it's fine, but when we login with an Active Directory user, we cannot."
"The reporting could be more robust. It can be a lot more granular and that will make it a lot more useful in comparison to how it is incorporated at the moment."
"I imagine we will have to develop our own reports soon, this seems to be more cumbersome."
"One of the drawbacks of being so flexible is that it is also a fairly complicated software application to install, configure, and maintain."
"The product should improve the ease with which you can create event alerts. They are not as hard now but you need to have an easier way."
"The company had to use a third party for the implementation of the solution."
"There are no multiple dashboards which would allow you to see information side-by-side."
"It is a very technical program. They can simplify it so that it isn't so hard to deal with."
"There is no correlation made between log entries, so no threat information is presented."

"ManageEngine Log360 is expensive compared to other products."
