File protection has improved and now keeps millions of daily transfers secure and compliant
In my organization, while using this tool, we found that there were a few files flagged as suspicious; however, those were not suspicious and it was a false positive, so that can be improved. False positive results were an issue, and it took time to scan files if the file size was greater than 1 GB. For larger files greater than 1 GB, it needs to be improved. In some cases, the reconstruction of the file led to a failure of code deployment and it flagged a valid file as malicious, which was not effective; however, in other types of files, it was very effective and could scan files properly. We have already covered all the main suggestions; however, it can be improved to reduce false positive results, and scanning could be faster to process more files in a day.

Has a valuable IP tracing feature, but is an expensive solution
We use this solution for authorization and more on the false positive verification IP tracing is the most valuable feature. The technical support needs improvement.  I have been using VMRay for two and a half years. The technical support team is not good.  Negative The initial setup is…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"MetaDefender Endpoint has provided benefit from its use, as the company's resources are fully protected and secured and no unauthorized access can reach the protected resources."
"Deep CDR is a strong feature of MetaDefender that we have configured using a sandbox license. While it is scanning the file, it breaks the file and checks each component of that file. By using the sandbox feature, it will isolate the particular file temporarily and check whether anything suspicious is detected. If there is a malicious threat, it will remove that and reconstruct the file, providing the copy to the user. That is a very strong feature provided by MetaDefender."
"Multi-engine scanning helps us identify potentially malicious files early, reduce security risks, and deploy with greater confidence."
"Combining multiscanning with CDR strengthens my data security operations by providing deeper detection and safer file outputs before files enter the environment."
"I assess the effectiveness of Deep CDR in reconstructing files safely and without signatures as a ten out of ten, as I really appreciate how it is done."
"I assess the effectiveness of MetaDefender in blocking or sanitizing content based on policy as very good."
"MetaDefender is leading with respect to competitors as an all-in-one platform because no other tool has all the platform built-in."
"The best feature of MetaDefender is that it can isolate USB devices from the connected network, blocks malware and unsafe files, and ensures all endpoints follow security policy, so that my organization remains safe and reduces the risk of these threats."
"IP tracing is the most valuable feature."

Cons

"In some cases, the reconstruction of the file led to a failure of code deployment and it flagged a valid file as malicious, which was not effective."
"Apart from this, I think the archive extraction is taking much more time even if we have much more than enough resources."
"The full scan takes considerable time; a complete Windows full scan takes almost 12 hours because it has billions of files."
"What I would like to see improved in MetaDefender includes reducing the high cost of the license, as the pricing is very high."
"MetaDefender can be improved by upgrading the Linux version, which is using many free tools such as MongoDB, Postgres, and OpenSSL."
"Most of the time, in our experience at Danet Communications, we work with government offices, and they need the CDR. However, because CDR is affecting files such as MSI and EXE files, they are always creating new passes of scanning."
"In some cases, the reconstruction of the file led to a failure of code deployment and it flagged a valid file as malicious, which was not effective; however, in other types of files, it was very effective and could scan files properly."
"MetaDefender could be improved by enhancing the Central Management feature because sometimes when I need to make configurations inside MetaDefender Core, it is blocked, which necessitates accessing Central Management."
"The technical support needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We bought a three-year license, and that was pretty expensive. We agreed that it was really worth buying. It could be cheaper, but we understand that quality comes at a price."
"The solution is overly priced."
