A low-code/no-code platform with a user-friendly UI
We couldn't implement or use some of the latest functionalities, like Spark. Palantir Foundry is scalable, but it is costly compared to other cloud providers. The solution is more suitable for small and medium businesses. It might be difficult for large enterprises. I rate the solution’s scalability a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The Azure Data Box saves us a great deal of time when migrating data to Azure."
"We're looking at this solution because it's part of an overall tool suite, so the integration piece is what's striking our interest in it."
"The availability and quick scalability of Microsoft Azure Data Box are highly valuable."
"It is a good fit with ease of integration there."
"The solution has allowed the organization to safely transfer and store into the cloud easily and quickly large amounts of data that can then be readily accessed."
"One valuable aspect is the support we receive from Microsoft Azure vendors."
"It provides secure transfer of large amounts of data."
"We use the solution for integration purposes."
"Palantir Foundry is a robust platform that has really strong plugin connectors and provides features for real-time integration."
"The AI engine that comes with Palantir Foundry is quite interesting."
"Encapsulates all the components without the requirement to integrate or check compatibility."
"It is easy to map out a workflow and run trigger-based scripts without having to deploy to another server."
"The security is also excellent. It's highly granular, so the admins have a high degree of control, and there are many levels of security. That worked well. You won't have an EDC unless you put everything onto the platform because it is its own isolated thing."
"Great features available in one tool."
"The solution offers very good end-to-end capabilities."
"Live video sessions enhance the available documentation and allow you to ask questions directly."

Cons

"For me it doesn't work well. ... If you are a non-Microsoft shop, to use Microsoft Azure Data Box, you would need to integrate it with your other vendors, and whether or not that will be possible will depend on the platform or platforms that host them."
"It's a single node solution. If it can be spread out across more of the enterprise and have more segregation in its virtual environment, that would be good."
"The device must be transported off-site before the data is uploaded into the Microsoft Azure Cloud."
"On an enterprise level, a per-user license for more than 1,000 users is very costly."
"I am not confident in this device's ability to perform a network backup in our data center."
"The solution is straightforward with simple application migration, but plug-and-play AI is not involved simultaneously."
"Currently, I do not see any areas for improvement."
"When it comes to old applications, they may not be the most suitable environment for Microsoft's current focus on Azure and the latest technologies. It would be helpful if Microsoft could provide some guidelines or recommendations for transitioning from old to new."
"The solution could use more online documentation for new users."
"They do not have a data center in Europe, and we have lots of personally identifiable information in our dataset that needs to be hosted by a third-party data center like Amazon or Microsoft Azure."
"Some error messages can be very cryptic."
"Compared to other hyperscalers, Palantir Foundry is complex and not so user-intuitive."
"It would be helpful to build applications based on Azure functions or web apps in Palantir Foundry."
"It requires a lot of manual work and is very time-consuming to get to a functional point."
"Cost of this solution is quite high."
"Difficult to receive data from external sources."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"On a scale of one to five, with one being not good and five being competitive, I would rate this solution as a four."
"The product’s pricing is normal for enterprises but higher for SMBs."
"The pricing is based on the size of the appliance needed to store the data."
"This is a pay-as-you-go solution, where you pay for the amount of storage space that you are using."
"The solution’s pricing is high."
"Palantir Foundry has different pricing models that can be negotiated."
"Palantir Foundry is an expensive solution."
"It's expensive."
