Versatile integrations and reliable customer satisfaction elevate cloud service experience
For Microsoft Azure improvement, they need to enhance their support system. The first level of support should be improved in terms of quality and response time. They need more technical support at the first level, as there are currently only one or two technical people among five to ten staff members at this level. They should ensure that the first level support is more technical because we normally provide services to technical users ourselves. When an issue arises, it usually escalates to the second or third level. When facing first level support, they may have limited knowledge and only collect screenshots to forward to their seniors. They should ensure that the first level support is aligned with L2 and L3 to better assist us, especially since we mention in the ticket that our issues are related to specific problems and require that sort of support.

I cannot say anything about what areas of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud could be improved or enhanced because so far, we are happy with this implementation. We are not facing any problem, or I cannot say that this can be improved. Although SAP keeps improving themselves day by day, we cannot say that SAP needs to improve anything. One thing which we face, not as a problem, is the pricing. SAP pricing is a bit higher day by day. Before, it was not too much higher, but I don't know why they are increasing their price. They should see this thing, so other customers, such as SMBs customers or small and mid-sized customers, can also avail this thing. Otherwise, we don't have any problem. First, there is the limitation. If you are a SAP user, you don't feel any problem with the limitation because if you know how to use the product, you can easily implement this thing. Otherwise, if you don't know the business process or how to integrate and implement, it could be a problem. We have a limitation, but we developed some add-ons for this. So we fulfilled these requirements.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is at the top of what you can get at the moment on the market."
"The product is a cloud solution."
"The solution is completely scalable."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Azure is the Area feature. Additionally, the SQL Server DB as a serverless pool is useful, storage-wide external tables are helpful, and PolyBase is very good at reading external data. The capacity of Synapse to analyze in analytics is very good and it supports a range of data."
"The most valuable features of Azure for me are its ease of management, recoverable virtual machines with backup support, excellent customer support, and user-friendly interface."
"If you need a quick mobile solution, particularly an enterprise mobile solution, this is a wonderful choice."
"But for prediction/classification this is a fantastic tool."
"It is a flexible solution that is straightforward to use."
"Now, with the cloud, we can move anywhere in the world and we can easily access it from SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, and even the client can also see the stock availability which they need to order."
"My company has not had any problems with the product's initial setup phase."
"The scalability is good because we have some cloud resources to support the ERP."
"There's a minimum amount of downtime when using the solution. This platform is very effective."
"We are very happy with this solution, and the processes and the way we take advantage and use assistance are good."
"In SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, HANA has the best performance for hosting the data warehouse and analytics solution mainly, and this is the good feature in it."
"This solution is as good as any other S/4HANA SAP solution, and the continuous support we get is very valuable."
"The BTP module is important for digital transformations."

Cons

"Their backup strategy is a little complex which racks up the VM to other sole storage areas. This should be improved."
"The biggest area needing improvement involves the licensing cost."
"We have faced some challenges trying to deploy a new ESP application."
"I would prefer to see improvements such as more advanced AI features, lower pricing, and better technical support."
"You don't get support from Microsoft very easily as compared to other solutions. The Microsoft Azure team does not [respond quickly]."
"The solution could be easier to use. However, when comparing it to AWS it is a bit easier."
"The initial setup could be simplified."
"Most of the problems that we've had are related to the DNS and the SSL certificate."
"The stability of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Customers need to be better educated about using the solution's cloud for digital transformation."
"This product is not mature enough at this point in time."
"I would rate the stability a four out of ten. It's an area that could use improvement"
"It needs improvement in terms of stability and performance."
"The price is expensive compared to the competition."
"Customization is an area of concern in SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, where improvements are required."
"The price of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is quite expensive compared to solutions such as Data Fabric in Azure and Redshift on Amazon, which are quite cheap in comparison."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you are not aware of costs, pricing, etc., you can end up with a hefty bill. However, I found that the Azure price calculator is a valuable tool to use before starting to deploy VMs in Azure. This tool will give you an overview of the costs you should expect on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis."
"We are on a monthly subscription for Microsoft Azure and the cost is more expensive than some of the competitors, such as Amazon AWS. They should be more competitive with other solutions."
"The pricing of Microsoft Azure is not very flexible."
"The licensing price is fine."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"Customers need to purchase additional services because of the complexity of it."
"Some services are okay, while others are expensive. Different features within the same service, like Defender, have separate charges. This, combined with the skill shortage in FinOps strategy and management, makes it difficult to control costs."
"The solution does not offer very many free services which can become expensive. We are on an annual license."
"I rate the product's price a five out of ten."
"If you choose the minimum, it will probably cost around $1,000 USD per month if you take a contract for a year or two."
"The solution's cost is reasonable."
"The price is on little bit higher. For SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, we see roughly five crores per annum."
"Our pricing is based on a yearly contract."
"The pricing is reasonable when compared to other vendors like Oracle who offer technology enterprise resource software."
"The product itself is relatively expensive."
"The price is high compared to other databases, which is why HANA is still not widely used. Some enterprises prefer Sybase, Oracle, or other traditional databases because HANA is a little pricey. Cost is one factor SAP needs to work on to make it more competitive with other databases. Otherwise, they'll never be able to develop a mass customer base."
