Real-time data processing and good support with room for market-driven improvements
SAP RFX and overall SAP solutions provide a very intuitive and integrated solution within finance, leading procurement, and other business scenarios. The real-time data processing and the ability to track all leasing processes and contracts are particularly valuable. SAP's capability to integrate with other systems like GIS and non-SAP applications also stands out.

Strong integration in manufacturing and enhances flexibility with useful workflow management
Installation is very straightforward, however, implementation takes years or months based on the project's size. In manufacturing, the requirement might go from ten to 12 people. If I'm a sales-oriented company, such as an FMCG or something else, then I might need around seven or eight people at the very minimum. It is not an easy task to migrate. If I'm moving from a different ERP to S/4HANA, I need a proper project that probably spans several months, with significant engagement from both the business side and the technical side. I need an opportunity partner on it. Processing to SCE S/4HANA takes a bit of effort.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The processes and the way we take advantage and use assistance are good."
"The scalability is good because we have some cloud resources to support the ERP."
"What I like the most is that we can convert databases into a proper multi-dimensional model, and then we can project with the integration with Power BI."
"Traditionally, SAP worked with Oracle databases, but SAP is getting rid of the other databases and promoting its own. SAP will stop support for other databases around 2026, so everyone is moving to SAP S/4HANA for the performance and because it's the preferred database for SAP. S/4HANA has new features from the front-end or application feature perspective. The idea is to move toward future-ready technology."
"The most valuable feature is virtual modeling, which is beneficial because you don't really save the data multiple times the way we did in the past."
"The real-time data processing and the ability to track all leasing processes and contracts are particularly valuable."
"This solution is as good as any other S/4HANA SAP solution. The continuous support we get is very valuable."
"It has significantly streamlined our operations."
"I recommend SAP S4HANA if your team is well-prepared and your internal organization is educated before implementation."
"The support is top-notch."
"I appreciate the reliability and performance of SAP S/4HANA on AWS. It demonstrates high integration and stability, making it a widely used choice in various industries, including manufacturing, such as factories, carmakers, and battery production. It effectively covers a broad spectrum of business areas, which is beneficial."
"The reporting capability is good, providing very in-depth information."
"Provides good performance and regular release of new features."
"SAP S4HANA on AWS has high performance. All the data is in one place and it's real-time. When you make an entry you don't have to wait a couple of minutes, hours, or overnight as something the batch process takes time. It is instantaneous and is available to everybody."
"The tool's installation is easy. I rate it an eight out of ten."
"The HANA database is a valuable feature"

Cons

"The licensing model for SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud has changed, and it is not entirely clear for final customers. Instead of named users, they now have to calculate FUEs."
"SAP should adopt more rapid changes in market processes and customer needs to deliver solutions that meet new industry requirements swiftly."
"The only thing that could be improved is the cost."
"Our data centers are in Europe and come under GDPR regulations, and this doesn't apply to the Middle East yet. It causes a lot of confusion."
"This product is not mature enough at this point in time."
"The solution needs to embed or integrate with IBP to fully activate the PPT module with efficiency."
"I would rate the stability a four out of ten. It's an area that could use improvement"
"SAP support isn't on par with products like Microsoft Azure or AWS. It's nowhere close to the competitors."
"Sometimes, the tool has bugs."
"The documentation isn't clear enough."
"I would rate my experience with the initial setup a three out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy."
"The solution needs a warehouse management feature. Right now, there's a built-in WM, but they don't have an EWM extended warehouse management built-in, in S/4HANA. It's a separate product. So if they can add that, that would be great."
"Doesn't have a common development environment."
"We had some storage and legacy migrations problems with SAP S4HANA on AWS."
"SAP S4HANA on AWS could improve by having more data centers because there are limited data centers in the region I am in. Amazon AWS has announced a few more data centers to be added, but they're still not 100 percent operational for SAP solutions."
"The solution's overall enterprise support could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you choose the minimum, it will probably cost around $1,000 USD per month if you take a contract for a year or two."
"The price is high compared to other databases, which is why HANA is still not widely used. Some enterprises prefer Sybase, Oracle, or other traditional databases because HANA is a little pricey. Cost is one factor SAP needs to work on to make it more competitive with other databases. Otherwise, they'll never be able to develop a mass customer base."
"SAP may not be the most cost-effective option, but it does offer a comprehensive set of tools and features. When you have the right information, structure, and dashboard in place, it can provide excellent value. Additionally, competition with Oracle might be a factor to consider."
"I rate the product's price a five out of ten."
"The price is on little bit higher. For SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, we see roughly five crores per annum."
"The solution could be less expensive."
"The licensing of the solution is on a yearly basis. The normal price of the solution is quite high, but I received a special discount by making a purchase near the end of the year."
"The price is expensive compared to the competition."
"I rate the price of SAP S4HANA on AWS an eight out of ten."
"It's expensive. It would be good if AWS and Azure could reduce the computing cost for people who move to the public cloud."
"Compared to its competitors, SAP S4HANA on AWS is a costly solution."
"The licensing of the product is reasonable but the cost of the hardware is exorbitant."
"The pricing is a little bit high."
"There are additional modules-wise, it's needed for modules, and also for any new functions."
"It is a significant investment, around six hundred thousand dollars, and it involves both a one-time on-premises installation on servers and a cloud subscription with different flavors for SAP S4HANA."
"I would rate the pricing as a two and a half out of five."
